Director @AmmaAsante's beautifully shot period drama was ground-breaking in how it examined the impact of racism in British history. It also featured a stunning early career performance by @gugumbatharaw, for which she won the Best Actress Award @BIFA_film #NationalLottery30

Reading about this horrific case, my god Ms. Gisèle Pélicot is a hero. She asked that her trial be made public so every single piece of shit that raped her will have their name & face shown. - Woman describes horror of learning what her husband had done bbc.com/news/articles/…

Solidarity with Gisèle Pélicot, Rebecca Cheptegei's loved ones and everyone affected by the reporting of such horrific violence against women. Once again, we’re appalled to see headlines that justify male violence, hide the perpetrator and feed harmful myths about victims.

When politicians demonise migrants, the far right listen. When they say refugees should be “sent back to where they came from”, the far right listen. When they complain about asylum seekers staying in hotels, the far right listen. Let’s promote a message of unity instead.…

You know, I want my country back too Back from the far right, the racists, the politicians who prey on ignorance and xenophobia, back from the EDL, Farage, Reform The Daily Mail, The Sun and every God forsaken crappy organisation that spreads divisive hate

So I think that in 2024, we can and should be able to do better in sports commentary. We shouldn't be broadcasting what are essentially racist tropes into the homes of millions of people every day. You don't have the excuse of unconscious bias.
