Two years ago this month I checked out of a psych ward. I wish I’d told more people. Months later, while hearing of my embarrassment, beloved @processdaily said, “A psych ward is a place, K.” That idea was so expansive that it created this meditation in @CortlandReview

"Birds are amazing because they’ll tell you what’s going on in the environment..." Really love that birds are the way into this story. What are we if not interdependent? cc @the_jennitaur laist.com/news/climate-e…

He wants to say I love you, nothing can hurt you but he thinks this is a lie, so he says in the end you're dead, nothing can hurt you which seems to him a more promising beginning, more true. - Rest in peace, Louise Glück. poets.org/poem/myth-devo…

When I heard Louise Gluck say in an interview that she hadn't written a poem in two years--that was a life-giving keystone moment for me as a young writer.

The Wild Iris is the book I turn to when I don’t know how to go on. But more than that, I have always found comfort in Louise Glück’s constant public acknowledgment of her frequent years of silence & not writing. Farewell to a legend.

As a person formerly sentenced to LWOP. I know firsthand that rehabilitation is possible. There are many more people like me who could make our communities better by coming home. Read why life without parole needs to end. @SCSCNow teenvogue.com/story/juvenile…

Poet @SaraBorjas3 is haunted in the same way I am—a disembodied sense of unbelonging in the afterlives of colonization, of having practices and memories we can never claim, grief that we will never be claimed. "Decolonialish Self-Portrait" is about that stranding, apt for today.

I remember myself; a corner of sunlight on the bed sheet rotating a violence, words that die before meaning: relentless shredded threads. —Sara Borjas #PoemADay poets.org/poem/decolonia…
