Made it; I’m in the queue! Can see the Tower. Probably mad. I have a feeling it’s going to be a long night @thequeen #westminsterhall #thequeue
It’s not usually my style to do this but, as it’s my first ever, what the hell. Try and catch Radio 4’s From Our Own Correspondent today. The final item is a piece about the Passion Play in Oberammergau… bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00… #fromourowncorrespondent
As Germans east and west celebrate 31 years of married life (and yes it has its ups and downs), my lovely wife Tanja (German) and me (British) reflect on our own union of 31 years- proof that with Anglo-German relations, there’s much to drink to. Prost! #MyUKGermanFriendship
So where were we? Ah yes, a French stamp in the passport. Welcome to 1973
such a simple sign; such a swirl of emotions. Enfin! The rail adventure to Switzerland starts here...
The legend lives on: the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express back on the rails this week for the first time in 20 months with a journey from Venice to Amsterdam. 🚇🚇
What a nice surprise on my way to work today. As I walked to the platform I noticed this lady waiting on the opposite side. Really nice to see the Orient Express, not a very frequent visitor at all. Oh, and it's very, very shiny 😁
Did somebody say Champions of Europe, we’ve won it two times? YES! #ChelseaChampions #ChelseaFC #comeonyoublues
I solemnly swear not to kvell over every byline, but this one is a bit special. My words & big silly face are in today’s @TelegraphTravel 3 times — and I even got to gush about my love for Chinese slow trains in our #RailSpecial (thank you, @never2far). A very good day.
Berlin comes in from the cold - again. The new airport has opened. Yes, you read that correctly... telegraph.co.uk/travel/destina… via @TelegraphTravel
Greetings from Ste Cecile Plage a few miles south of Boulogne. Made it! The sea beckons; the #greatescape begins @TelegraphTravel
Ah the White Cliffs of Dover; so lovely to see you; so lovely to wave goodbye. Next stop on the #greatescape : Calais and the Côte d'Opale. @TelegraphTravel
Welcome to crossing the Channel by ferry in a time of coronavirus. Masks on; chairs distanced ; ships and restaurants quiet. But we can see France. And we’re off... #greatescape @TelegraphTravel
Now there’s a sight for sore eyes; Port of Dover; and from here mainland France is already visible. The #greatescape is on and I can feel those moules frites getting closer... @TelegraphTravel
Bonjour! Yes that is a sign to Dover and yes I’m on my way to catch the ferry to France. It’s all part of the #greatescape as we leave lockdown behind. Excited? You bet @TelegraphTravel
