It is the morning of February 14, 1979. You are standing on the ruined west bank of the Hood Canal Bridge, looking east to Kitsap. They say it was the storm. Your neighbors suspect naval sabotage. No one can leave the Peninsula now. No one can enter. WHAT are you thinking?

Pictures of rare leucistic Pacific salmon (not to be confused with the "ivory kings" of British Columbia & Washington state, a separate phenomenon.)

What goes on in the northern end of "Cascadia"? Feels further away than Juneau sometimes.

Along the Thompson River on Hwy 1 southbound towards Lytton. Cascadian desert paradise.

Dosewallips elk herd on Mount Jupiter overlooking the mouth of the Duckabush River. Happy Advent!

These videos are all of the same section of road in the Skokomish Valley, the only place on Earth chum salmon really do this. They are hatchery chum, bred slower and stupider for easier egg harvesting for Asia. This year was the biggest chum return ever for WA, maybe by 3x.

Salmon swim upstream on asphalt so that they can die in the same place that they were born, and you're in the groupchat talking about nihilism
