People are not “garbage.” People are not “burdens.” Whether it be directed towards immigrants, disabled people or any other marginalized people, this dehumanization is vile and must stop.

We have been saying this for *ever* but maybe now schools will listen. @HighlandCouncil

Here is the speech I gave at the LDAN Roundtable discussion last Wednesday. We need action now. facebook.com/share/v/BcXnoL…

We need a societal shift away from training children to work to encouraging them in valuing personal growth & discovery.

Whenever I write about keeping children’s curiosity alive through more choices and more play, someone says something like ‘well I’m glad my doctor learnt how to follow instructions’. Or ‘Naomi would like to see a world where people choose how to drive and don’t bother about…

I was honored to speak at today’s roundtable discussion on the LDAN Bill, especially given the removal of the LDAN Bill from the Programme of Govt. It has never been more important be heard by the legislators who can make a real difference. Too many lives depend upon it.

Thank you to our fantastic autistic campaigners who visited @ScotParl to talk to MSP's about why the Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Neurodivergence Bill is so important. And thank you @djohnsonmsp for chairing!

Murdoch, the NHS national mental health director, said: "As the NHS, we want to help people find work or keep work. The NHS can, should and does think of itself as a contributor to economic growth. Er, no. The NHS can, should and does think of itself as a contributor to health.

The message here is incredibly powerful for me. There are so many days that I am not OK; now, instead of feeling useless about that, I will focus on what else I *can* be.

It’s all about the framing.
