No one in full time employment should be unable to pay for housing food, heating and the occasional treat. There should be a legal low pay limit. If you as an employer cannot pay this basic amount then your company is not viable.

My mum has Alzheimer's & if she has to go into a home she'll lose her house to pay for it. She worked all her life to provide that for me & my sister when she's gone. & millionaire farmers are acting like victims & the press are supporting them. I feel invisible.
The 'demonstration' by the wealthy landowners shows we are still 'landed gentry' or 'serfs'! I have a modest home that i I would like my grandchildren to inherit to help them buy a place to live. It's more than likely it will be 'lost' to pay for my care! Is this fair?

Big day for reasoned debate on farms/inheritance today - a debate undermined by @BBCNews repeatedly and wrongly reporting as fact that “farms worth more than £1m would have to pay inheritance tax”. This is just flatly wrong in vast vast majority of cases

I have to say that I will end my days without reaching the level of wealth required by a farm owning couple in the UK to meet the threshold for inheritance tax. The same is for almost everyone I know.

Water is national infrastructure. Previous Govts pretended it wasn't by selling the infrastructure to a company in order for them to be a 'profit making' intermediaries in exchange for arms-length accountability and a "what can we do?" shrug. For-Profit Privatisation never works.
