Finally I got the picture 😮 Snowy Durdle door in Dorset One of my most memorable moments, capturing this very rare image. The fact that we never really get snow down south and especially at such an iconic tourist attraction such as Durdle Door!

Y12 starter open ended task. Just given the diagram with the instruction to annotate with anything they could from their memory. Highlighted which students hadn’t grasped the 2 groups of bases. Keyword list for when they’d exhausted their memory. All engaged. Very pleased teacher

There is an important difference between a learning *style* and a learning *preference.* Learning style: a mode of learning (e.g. visual, audial, kinaesthetic, writing notes) that is actually the best way for you to learn, and worse for someone else who doesn't have that…

Can you believe that there’re STILL schools out there that require: - Marking books ‘every 2 weeks’ - Written lesson plans (for obs) - Data-based performance management targets Imagine doing all that in the middle of an R&R crisis. The grass really is greener elsewhere!

Imagine how life changing an hour long, duty free lunch, would be for teachers.

🗑️ 10 things schools can bin off (IMO) because every little helps: Asking teachers to log behaviour incidents - get someone to come round to classrooms with a laptop and do the recording of incidents dictation style rather than asking a teacher to log into software and click…

No after school meetings, evening/weekend email embargo, hot drinks trolley, 1.40 finish every Friday, no blame culture, shared planning, gratitude attitude, centralised detentions, staff voice, trust, free breakfasts, tea and coffee each break time, so many things.

Contrary to a widespread myth, @AlbertEinstein was good at mathematics in high school. This certificate of maturity was issued to Einstein at the age of 17. In the scoring, six = highest, 1 = lowest grade. The photo was taken the same day he received his grades #OTD in 1896.

A qualification where students can get the top 9-9 double grade with 65% over all papers and a strong pass with 28% is tacit acknowledgement that there is too much on these papers and most children will not know most of it. Even the brightest. Cut content. ✂️

This is why we have to do everything to protect the NHS, no matter what.

Cost for a heart transplant in the USA. When private Healthcare comes are you going bankrupt. Or are you dying?

Husband: What is 48 divided by 3 Me (without hesitation): 16 Husband: How did you know that?? Me: The molar mass for oxygen is 16 g/mol. Every chemist knows their 16 times table. 🤷‍♀️ #ChemTwitter

Hotel check in/check out times will never make sense to me. You want me to check in when the day is almost over but I should leave the hotel EARLY?

Does anyone have badger style assessment tasks on separating mixtures please? Any rts would be helpful!

Science teachers. A scale selector for graphs. This might be useful printed A2 and put on the wall in the lab! Saw it on talkphysics. Might prevent those multiple of 3 scales!
