Paperless is not a pedagogy. It's patting ourselves on the back for saving trees without a conversation about what makes for the awesome education every student deserves. A crappy paperless activity should not be celebrated.
Being “paperless” doesn’t make our classrooms “21st century ready.” If we are to truly offer student choice, paper must be an option. Having choice is what is most important. #satchat
I think teachers shine the most... not when they’re teaching well crafted, innovative lessons... but when they’re working patiently with students who are struggling.
Annotating a pdf (filling out a digital worksheet) is neither engaging, a digital literacy skill, any of the 4Cs, or better for learning. Can we PLEASE stop saying paperless?!
I get so annoyed at this. Boring kids with boring assignments on the computer is NOT the first step to using tech. No matter the medium, design for student engagement.
A 10 second conversation with a student as they walk into your class will probably mean more to them than your 45 minute lesson.
