Straw man. It's not "all-get-out cunning" for a defence team not to take actions that they believe will further harm a defendant's case - it's their job. And there's one possible reason Letby is now in a small locked room that you seem increasingly unable to contemplate.

Imagine Peter Hitchens not being able to engage in discussion about the Letby case for many months.
This sort of thing greatly increases the likelihood that Ms Letby will now be charged with more hypothetical offences, so making discussion of the case in the media impossible for many months. If this *does* happpen, one has to ask what the purpose of such charges would be.

No Peter. Hypotheses are like pregnancy. It’s not possible to be a little bit hypothetical. And no Peter, the hypothesis that Letby was a murderer presented to the jury in the Crown’s theory was not guesswork. But yes Peter, you’re doing sophistry.
It’s literally called a trial because a theory (i.e. a hypothesis) is being put to the test. Peter Hitchens knows this and is being willfully thick.
