I ordered a pickle-flavored sour beer for an upcoming Accessibility Craft Podcast recording. I'm excited, because I love pickles and I also love beer. 🥒 🍻 I'm also excited because Amber hates pickles. So, it's going to be really funny.

Did you know every #WordPress Accessibility Meetup we host costs us $650 or more? That's Zoom webinars, live captions, and transcription for day events. Evening/APAC are $700. With ASL, it's an additional $300. Running #WPA11yMeetup costs >$1350/mo with 0 from the WP Foundation.

An acquaintance of mine recently put on an event called Phoenix Design Week, and she shared this photo with me. They put up a board with common things people will say about #accessibility. Attendees walking past could put stickers underneath the ones they heard most.

Is anyone in my network familiar with organizations that print web accessibility documentation/guidelines in hardcopy braille?

It’s surprising to see how many themes in the #WordPress directory fall short on color contrast accessibility. There’s a clear opportunity for designers to make themes more inclusive by improving #a11y.

Did you remember to include accessibility in your 2025 budget? A lack of financial foresight means accessibility oversight. Join me at #WPA11yMeetup on December 5, 2024 where I will teach you how to accurately budget for accessibility. buff.ly/3YTdVN1

According to a recent survey, the majority of Irish businesses aren't prepared for the EU Accessibility Act. And I don't think they are alone. This is why it's important to start preparing now, so that you aren't stuck in the rush with everybody else. buff.ly/4fAkGJ5

The @EqualizeDigital team is working hard on the upcoming release of Accessibility Checker which will include critical accessibility fixes! 🚀 #a11y #WordPress

I am becoming a fan of AI note-taking tools. They're now accurate enough that I can rely on them to retain what the "next steps" are as well as baseline details after a conversation took place. But the biggest value IMO is getting to put my entire focus into the convseration.

I'm very excited to be working with @EqualizeDigital - @heyamberhinds @mr_chrishinds - on a full accessibility audit of the frontend of @WooCommerce 🙌🏻 They've already completed the initial audit and the team at @10up are working through fixing any issues which arose.

Our friends over at A2 Hosting put out a great piece on why accessibility is crucial for digital agencies and their client sites. Thank you so much for giving Accessibility Checker a shout-out in your article. 😎 buff.ly/3Y5VkeY

WP Accessibility Day is this week! There is still time to register. 2024.wpaccessibility.day/register/

I wrote a piece on why more agencies should offer recurring accessibility services. If you're in or adjacent to the agency world, I'd appreciate it if you gave it a read and shared it with some colleagues. buff.ly/3TNR9Di

Scar just registered for WP Accessibility Day. Scar is a cool person. 😎 Everyone, be more like Scar. #WPA11yDay

I just registered for #WPA11yDay, a free, virtual 24-hour conference on WordPress accessibility taking place October 9th and 10th, and you should too! Get your free ticket at 2024.wpaccessibility.day/register #WPAD2024 #WordPress #a11y

Disability rights attorney Lainey Feingold was a guest recently on Accessibility Craft! 🐊🍻 We asked her lots of questions about her background and the broader trends she's seeing around accessibility laws and enforcement. It's worth a listen. buff.ly/4eLshUH

I don't know if it is funny or sad that overlay companies seem to think this is the user experience that people want: A menu of accessibility options so long that it'd make Cheesecake Factory blush. You know where I'll be? Not on that website anymore. (Long vertical image)

The last week has been rough in the #WordPress world. But this week, I'm focussing on the amazing stuff we're doing with the team at Emilia. This Thursday, we'll have our launch webinar for Progress Planner. You should really check it out.
