My wife and I are helping Baseball Island Foundation, who is hosting a trip to the Dominican Republic in February. They train boys to qualify for college scholarships in USA. You can come with us and make a huge impact in the lives of these young men. Info here;…
One of my favorite blank backs. Here’s a 1980 Topps Murphy with a blank back. I’m sure there are older blank backs out there, but this is the oldest one I’ve seen, by a lot. What’s the oldest blank back (or front) in your collection?
Here's another nice Murphy card. This one's from 2001 Topps and gives tribute to Murph's #3 jersey number being retired by the Braves. It also makes reference to his Kinnett Dairies ads from the mid-80s. Dale's the best milk drinking, gold glove, silver slugger, 2x MVP there is.
I’m in the midst of removing all Google products and services from my life, but I cut off YouTube TV years ago. It was barely worth the $50ish/month cost back then. $83 l/month is nuts. You might as well go back to just paying for cable.
A message for our members: we have always worked to offer the content you love, with features to enjoy the best of live TV. To keep up with rising content costs, we’re updating our monthly price to $82.99/mo. (1/3)
Here's a fun one: from 2001 Topps, game used jersey and bat relics for 3 of the greatest #Braves to ever wear the uniform: Murph, Hank Aaron, and Eddie Matthews. Gotta love it when guys like that make an appearance in the Murphy collection.
I got to meet Derek Jeter once. Yankees @ Braves in 1998. I drove from FL, & Dad drove from SC for the 2-game series. Our seats were close to the field, and I happened to be next to a bunch of cute girls who convinced him to come sign. Thanks, ladies, wherever you are! 🤣😂
From 2002 Topps, this Milestone Material card is just gorgeous. The way it catches the light is fantastic.
This is a good read. And, yes, I'm biased; but it's still a good read. When you're right, you're right. Well said, @notgaetti
I'm pretty sure I got this Freddie Freeman ball signed while on one of my Spring Training trips with my dad, or it could have been when Freddie was still in the minors. Either way, it's a fun one to have in the collection.
From my Murphy collection, here are a few of the Topps Gallery of Champions Dale Murphy cards. These metal minis came in aluminum, bronze & silver (w/ silver stamped "Sterling" on back). Some are hard to find, others easy, but they're all fun. Do you guys have any of these?
I'm not sure how I lucked into meeting Maury Wills before a Dodgers Spring Training game in Vero Beach, but that sure was a fun day!
Here's a wooden jigsaw puzzle I created a while back. The figure pieces here are ones I designed from iconic Murphy photos. Note the 89UD poses, the nod to the Power Alley poster with the glowing bat, and the nod to Murph's defensive skill w/ Gold Glove.
Same.
The long overdue recognition for both Dick Allen and Dave Parker gives me hope that the Hall of Fame will eventually call for Dale Murphy.
I love it when other greats from my childhood make an appearance in the Murphy collection. Here’s a dual autograph card (/175) from 2005 Upper Deck with Murph and the amazing Robin Yount.
We went +1 on the family tonight. Murphy still reigns as queen of the house, but Teddy is joining the pack.
Good food, good people, and good art on the walls. You can’t beat that. Check out @MissTellier’s work. I have this pennant, and it is fantastic.
Y’ALL! Today, I received this picture of the great @DaleMurphy3 holding my pennant that will be displayed soon at @EatAtMurphs restaurant in Atlanta! Thank you so much to @chuckdouglas3 for this wonderful opportunity! ❤️⚾️💙 #dalemurphy #Atlanta #baseball
From 2004 Upper Deck, this Legendary Cuts "Historic Swatches" card is really nice. It's got a good, clean, attractive design; and it features a photo of Dale in the best uniforms the #Braves have ever had.
I've met a lot of baseball players. Some are really nice; some are big jerks. Of the nice guys who really stand out in my mind, Goose Gossage is near the top of the list. I met Goose at one of those @ChickenMan3010 charity games in Clearwater, and he signed this ball for me.
Here's a Topps Triple Threads card of Dale Murphy. Photos don't really do this one justice. It's a beautiful card. And it's numbered /9. It's hard to pass up a gorgeous with a single-digit print run, and this one was no different.
It was a crazy crowd of autograph seekers that day in Tampa at #Yankees Spring Training, but w/ patience (and some luck), I walked away w/ this beautiful @MarianoRivera autograph. I imagine one day I'll tell my grandkids how I got to meet and see the greatest closer ever.
