my most old man take is that there's a weird fucking trend in some corners of media writing to avoid all the actual complicated, dark, weird, or difficult topics in a work in some strange effort to polish all the corners off something that could have been interesting and dramatic
What is the point of a block button if it doesn't block people? This app is slowly getting rid of basic functionalities that social media apps/sites have always had... it's a simple matter of control over one's privacy. Stalkers and harassment are genuine concerns too.
