I wrote a series called Company of Strangers that's like the best D&D adventure you ever played. With were-unicorns. First book is on sale for 99c this month! books2read.com/u/bP52J7

I will be at FanX in Salt Lake City for the next three days. I will usually be at the Fiction Mobile booth on the expo floor, but this evening I will also be on the panel, "Who Put Game Stats Doing In My Fantasy Novel?" at 5:30 (Weird time, I know).

We had such a great time with this! I don't think I did enough fangirling over Sean Connery's performance--take a look and decide for yourself!

We've got another #MovieReview episode and hope to keep up our winning streak with the movie, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. We had on the awesome panel of Jana S Brown, JE Pittman, Melissa McShane and Michael LaVoice on to get nerdy with us. bitchute.com/video/aqBooowi…

I bought this in ebook and I'll probably get the paperback, too. Everyone read it and tell Jay how great it is!

Emissaries of Deceit... book 4 of The Vanished series. Now out on paperback. The people of Earth couldn't keep their remote sanctuary a secret forever. A tale of love, war, and politics in the land of monsters.

Mowing the yard with this book in the earbuds! At least with an audiobook the heat doesn't suck quite as bad! Check out the Warmaster Series by @melissamcshanewrites amazon.com/Warmaster-Gamb…

I'm in India, so if you're near this event, drop by and tell them I sent you!

I have a book signing on Friday, with two more terrific fantasy authors. It's at The Printed Garden Booksellers, 9445 South Union Square, Sandy, UT at 7:00 PM. It should be a lot of fun!

This is a great series, and very accessible for readers new to isekai stories.

My series The Vanished, starting with Queen of Monsters, is straight-up isekai. It takes place in a world where people from Earth who vanish without a trace sometimes go... and they are hunted and enslaved for their special abilities. Add a dash of gameLit and pulp for flavor.

Another weird case: Warmaster, by @mmcshanewrites The POV character is a native, but a major supporting character is from Earth. We get plenty of his perspective, but it's secondhand, and the MC often doesn't understand the references. But we do. Unusual, but it's isekai.

I like the term "isekai" because "portal fantasy" comes with more implied restrictions. From an audience expectation perspective, I believe the point is to experience the sense of wonder of a different world through the perspective of a relatable character from our world. That's…

I'm going to say I wish more people had read Warmaster 1: Dungeon Spiteful, because I love the worldbuilding in it... I like seeing experienced writers making forays into LitRPG, because I get to have all the good stuff I like about gamelit with all the polish I wish the genre…

One more week until HIDDEN ENEMY releases, and the first book in the series, HIDDEN REALM, is on sale for 99 cents all through February. Along with a bunch of other first-in-series titles! books.bookfunnel.com/fantasy99first…

My advice to artists who discover people who don't share their beliefs love their work is to be grateful that art has the power to cross barriers and unite people. If your work crashes across ideologies and walls, you have been given a sacred banner to bear. Lift it high.

I am back in India and fully awake at just after 1 am. This is my least favorite part of having to travel to the US and back regularly--the sleep acclimation.

After nearly two months of writing nothing, I started work on a new book. It is book seven in an as-yet-unpublished series. Is this optimism or utter foolishness, putting this kind of work into what may never interest anyone?

Still flu. My husband is much sicker than I am. I'm mostly coughing a lot, and he can't keep anything down. I'm having trouble being motivated to do anything, which sucks because I have a lot to do.

Lots of inexpensive box sets available--including my own Tremontane series! books.bookfunnel.com/5dollarsorless…

Flu. Flu is what's happening. So much for a bold start to the new year.

It's been such a long day, and I nearly forgot, but BURNING BRIGHT is a Kindle Daily Deal today for 50% off! amazon.com/Burning-Bright…
