Given EFG’s poor op CF profile, high football net debt (w/ meaningful demands in 2024/25), player trading deficit since 30 June, and reduced pool of non-player fixed assets to sell, needed steps (cap injections; player sales; cost cuts) highlighted in the outlook are no surprise.

Someone will need to explain why Lyon, a club with apparently serious financial issues: i) exercised the Mangala option for a total of €35m before 30 June only to then loan him to Everton for free ii) purchased Niakhate for €30m before 30 June Defies logic.

Subsequent to 30 June, EFG were unable to meet player sales targets for the remainder of summer window, resulting in a notable player trading deficit to date in 2024/25.

Someone will buy Textor’s Palace shares one day but I suspect it won’t be Jaffer & Janjua. Companies House shows 14 active directorships between them & net assets of £60k. They’ve apparently just upped their bid for 45% of CPFC from £130m to £230m. Bold. Good luck to them.
