It’s so easy to say when you’ve never been in the situation. I also tried to “thug it out”, “grow a thick skin”, “fight back”. Until it landed me in hospital with depression, anxiety, chronic high blood pressure and frequent heart palpitations. I literally could’ve died…

Speaking from experience, working with a toxic line manager that seeks to find issues in every aspect of your work and your team daily isn’t grand. The depression that follows comes without notice, 12 months down the line you wake up depressed, overweight, anxious and exhausted
