for any of my mutuals leaving twitter, i’m on instagram and i (reluctantly) made a bluesky account! same @ on both xx

sad to see twitter go, i’ve learned so much and made so many great friends off this app 🥲 what elon has done to it is genuinely deplorable

Like the conclusion people make is ‘yeah this is bad for all but in some ways it’s good for me so I’m going to hold onto that part’ and idk if I can respect it at all

Above all it sucks when people do the work, deconstructing and all - then abandon their curiosity because they cannot cope with discomfort. This is what my good friend Camus called philosophical suicide. It’s a damn shame

this was such a diplomatic and gracious answer loool

.@JohnBoyega was at @AFRIFF and he talked about why it is hard for Hollywood to collaborate with Nollywood. What do you think can be done to bridge the gap?

Everyone understands “the power of the tongue” when it comes to giving themselves affirmations but yall don’t see anything wrong with telling women that get pregnant outside of YOUR timeline that the event is a “funeral” and that their lives are “dead”

So @jenny_gxo & I decided to do a thing tomorrow (thank you @Aqua_or_Bob). We will be talking about the differences between having standards vs perpetuating misogyny, and empathy being central to our politic. Join if ya want. Bye x twitter.com/i/spaces/1yNxa…

I love Palestinians for so many reasons but I have extra love for them for consistently going so hard for Sudan when they’re facing their own genocide. The most purest souls ever 🥲🩷 inshallah Sudan and Palestine will be free together 🇸🇩🇵🇸

yeah i learned that if you're invested in the work of knowing who you are and getting to the bottom of who you are, being close to those who don’t do any work, ever can invite you to feel negatively intense but with those who do, around them you'll feel like–

I’m acknowledging I’m flawed and trying to move ethically in a world full of people who think they’re 100% fine and normal *simply* bc their upbringing looked nothing like mine, because they don’t have a diagnosis…there’s just no introspection. They don’t do any work, ever.

Your anger is nowhere near justified You didn’t try and build a movement, you wanted people to come vote for your genocidal candidate. That’s not movement building

The behavior “going back to Starbucks,” saying you won’t care about genocide, or you’ll call ICE is wild. Full stop. But the anger Black Americans have towards POC is absolutely justified. These the demographics that still argue w/us about saying nigga & appropriating culture.

Y'all aren't gonna like me, but reading is a privilege. You need free time, the education, the ability, access to books, etc. But we should be helping each other access books however we can and sharing info and stories in a number of mediums.

btw when people say that you should read more, they don’t just mean theory. read anything. read everything. we are a dangerously illiterate country & anything makes a difference. form that hobby now.

I think maybe we should recommend short books, novellas, chapbooks etc to get people back into reading instead of arguing
