Politicians should not dictate the kind of health care patients receive, including abortion care. Providers and patients are free to make those choices for themselves in Washington state. theolympian.com/news/state/art…

Good.

Totally understand 💔

The last day of my 20th year is the most bittersweet of them all. I never thought I would ever doubt how much longer I can keep teaching because it is my dream job, but here we are and I know so many educators feel the same.

And who do they think make up the teachers’ unions? 🙄

CNN's Elle Reeve: "It seems like you think there’s some high-level, coordinated effort to make more children trans and gay. Moms for Liberty: "Yep." Reeve: Who's doing that? MFL: Teachers unions, Biden, money. Reeve: "Why would they want more children to be gay and trans?"

Another day, another article about political churn in our ed community. Limiting conversations in schools will not stop youth from searching for identity. I hope students, and my own children, know they can talk openly and honestly about who they are and what they need from me.

I knew that Speech and Language Therapy recruitment was bad, but the figures quoted here are astounding.

As @RCSLT & @_ASLTIP prepare to publish our #FailToPlanPlanToFail report, it's great to see @Independent cover our #SLTVacancies survey, inc. quoting our new Chief Executive @SteveJamieson12 and highlighting the experiences of Ruth Rayner & @SLTManager independent.co.uk/news/uk/people…

I just want more than $150 a year to buy materials to provide individual SDI for 45+ students.

Hey educators… What are your thoughts about a bullet proof safe room in schools? 🤔😐 #EdChat #EduTwitter

My district provides $150 a year to each SLP for therapy materials. That’s it. SDI for 45+ students. The rest is purchased by us. My husband: are we even making a profit from your job. Me: 🤷🏻‍♀️

Need to get serious for a minute. As our leg considers HB 1479 to eliminate isolation in schools, there are narratives being raised that trouble me. Some well-meaning partners are framing the elimination of isolation as a path to more restraint & injury for students & staff.
