The "𝑬𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆" will be held June 22-23,2023 at #UofT & is organized by #PositiveZero for Canadian graduate students & postdoctoral fellows. Call for abstracts coming soon.#Mobility #transportation #climatechange
Working with low-cost air sensors is a challenge in its own right. But once these sensors are installed on a moving vehicle with rapidly air quality gradients, it is double the challenge! #UrbanScanner @UofTPositive @UofTMobilityNet @WeichenthalS sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Not only do heavy duty truck emissions impact populations with high social disadvatange the most, but our findings also caution that the increase in truck movements during and post-pandemic will further exacerbate this inequality.
Happy to share our latest study in @EnvSciTech @UofTPositive! The study employs a machine learning approach to assess disparities in exposure to emissions from diesel trucks and light-duty vehicles and how they evolved over the span of 15 years in Toronto. pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…
I am thrilled to hold this title and excited to push forward research at the intersection between transport decarbonization and societal outcomes (air quality, health, equity, etc) with amazing collaborators. Thanks to my referees and those who wrote support letters!
Congratulations to Professor Marianne Hatzopoulou @mhatzopoulou on her Tier One Canada Research Chair in Transport Decarbonization and Air Quality! uoft.me/8wG @TIPS_SPIIE @UofTPositive @civmin @uoftengineering
The park was happy to host and participate too! Doing our part for #climatechange #outoorairquality
Prof. Bruce Urch of @UofT_dlsph collects a temperature sensor from a home on Fri, Oct 28. Sensors were installed all over Toronto in May as part of a heat study funded by Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) w #McGillU and #CivMin. #airquality uoft.me/8s8
How clean is your travel? Our team used trip data for the GTHA including info on congestion, emission rates, and transit occupancy that reflect our own GTHA conditions to come up with the distribution of emission intensities (in grams of CO2 eq/passenger km travelled) by mode.
Can cities augment their #traffic count data using aerial imagery? To know more check out the paper by @UofTPositive researcher Dr.Arman Ganji, on the use of aerial imagery to derive hourly, daily, and average annual daily traffic. authors.elsevier.com/a/1fDTw,M0mRNX…
I am watching the recording and I am just perplexed that this is truly something that is being argued
Positive Zero is the @UofT transport decarbonization initiative. Our mission is to accelerate the transfer of transport decarbonization research & innovation into actionable knowledge. #transportdecarbonization #zeroemission Check out our ongoing research positivezero.civmin.utoronto.ca/projects-at-a-…
Proud to announce that @UofTPositive will begin to build its social media network and find its voice within the great transport decarbonization research taking place in Canada and the world. Consider following our work!
Check out the new website from Positive Zero Transport Futures! A "living lab" approach enabling #transport #innovations w/ #zeroemissions & positive social outcomes. A summer seminar series coming soon! @UofTPositive @mhatzopoulou @civmin positivezero.civmin.utoronto.ca
I am very excited to launch Positive Zero at UofT. Stay tuned for updates from this new intiative as we begin to build partnerships and do the work!
Newly launched "Positive Zero Transport Futures" living lab led by Profs @mhatzopoulou @GregEva25210653 & Jeffrey Brook aims to #decarbonize #transportation. Funded by @uoftengineering Dean's Strategic Fund. @civmin @CANUEConsortium @SOCAAR_UofT uoft.me/7rk
Congrats Baher @civmin @uoftengineering Awarded @O_S_P_E Engineering Medal – Engineering Excellence
Great partnership! hopefully our air quality exposure measures can help push an already incredible study led by @DrElyseCaronB
#UofT researchers Élyse Caron-Beaudoin & Marianne Hatzopoulou are investigate the health effects of fracking in B.C.’s Northeast. 🏞️ uoft.me/7kJ
Great session yesterday with Dr. Mona Nemer @ChiefSciCan talking about the impact of science on society, health, equity, eduction, and incredible science briefs from all the winners @SOCAAR_UofT @WeichenthalS
I enjoyed immensely this morning’s round table with the recent winners of @NSERC_CRSNG awards, led by Canada’s Chief Science Advisor, the indefatigable Dr. Mona Nemer @ChiefSciCan
Indeed, really proud to be one of the Brockhouse winners this year @SOCAAR_UofT
