New paper alert! Amazing grad students @levy_ezra and Isabella Leite live image female germline cyst formation in embryonic gonads of mice and discover that even as these structures form, through divisions with incomplete cytokinesis, germ cells are incredibly motile.

⁉️What do model-neural similarity scores tell us? To systematically explore this for different metrics, we develop new numerical tools & analytics to characterize what drives similarity scores and what constitutes a "good" score. (1/10)

Simulating the Hopfield model of associative memory was my first experience as a computational neuroscientist, one that a bit later led to one of my first papers (doi.org/10.1162/neco.2…). This means a lot to our field, and to all of us who use physics to understand the brain.

BREAKING NEWS The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2024 #NobelPrize in Physics to John J. Hopfield and Geoffrey E. Hinton “for foundational discoveries and inventions that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks.”
