Thrilled that this paper is now out 💃🏻🧠 This work was the heart of my PhD and has been my central research question from day 1. Can #dancemovementtherapy reduce dissociative symptoms in #depersonalizationderealizationdisorder ? The answer is, yes! doi.org/10.1016/j.ctcp… 1/5
Thrilled to share new preprint capturing views of patients, carers and healthcare professionals on how to measure outcomes in #FND. Great team work with Sonja Rutten @amsterdamumc! 🙏 @AbbyBradley89 and @Tim_R_Nicholson ! osf.io/preprints/osf/… 🧐💪
We are seeking 20 more participants with functional seizures for this study on possible causes, triggers and mechanisms. Involves a lab visit in London, MRI (if suitable) and a remote phase with a smartphone app and Fitbit. Please share or get in touch: neuroadslab@kcl.ac.uk
Thank you so much to everyone who contacted us about this study! 🙏 We are still recruiting people diagnosed with functional (dissociative, non-epileptic) seizures, particularly females. Please RT or get in touch if you might be able to help! Email: neuroadslab@kcl.ac.uk 🧠
It's been hard work (!) but I'm absolutely thrilled with this progress on my MRC fellowship project - couldn't have got this far without the committed participants and the dream-team researchers including @merrittmillman @Jess_R_Davies and Lauren Blunstone 💪🌟
We are amazed that we have now recruited and tested 50% of our target sample for this study! So extremely grateful to every single participant and to @FNDHopeUK for helping us find them all! 🙏🎯🧡
Really great to see this completed and finally out after a lot of work with @merrittmillman and a long review process! We summarise the literature on neurocognitive test performance across #FND subgroups, finding highly variable evidence across domains. More work needed here!!
Now out in EJN! Our systematic review of neurocognitive performance in #FND spanned seizures, motor, and cognitive phenotypes. We present variable evidence for group differences, highlight common confounds, and suggest future research directions 🧐 onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/en…

New paper out now! 🤩 Behavioural, autonomic, and neural responsivity in depersonalisation-derealisation disorder: A systematic review of experimental evidence Check it out here: doi.org/10.1016/j.neub… 👀 #DDD #DPDR @unrealcharity
Very pleased to share our new review of experimental findings in depersonalisation-derealisation disorder. Congratulations to @merrittmillman and Xi Huang for leading this 👏👏
Very proud of this study reflecting much time & effort from participants and team 💪We used remote monitoring technologies to identify biopsychosocial factors linked to changes in #FND symptoms in daily life. Under review for now, will share final soon doi.org/10.31234/osf.i…
New preprint online now! 🚨 This digital remote monitoring study used mobile apps and wearables to track #FND symptoms in daily life, and identified physical, psychological and environmental factors that might influence them 🧐🧠📱🫀⌚️ Check it out here: doi.org/10.31234/osf.i…
This week: taking empirical aesthetics out of the lab and into the gallery! Delighted to be running an eye tracking study at @haywardgallery as part of the fantastic When Forms Come Alive. southbankcentre.co.uk/whats-on/art-e…🧠🤓 🕺🪩 @guidorgs @ChamberlainRS @mscpanc @GoldsmithsPsych
1000 followers!! 🎉 Thank you all for your interest in our work and posts 👀🧠🧐
Please spread the word - my team now seeking participants with functional seizures or motor symptoms for my @The_MRC funded study. We are very keen to hear from people with functional (dissociative/non-epileptic) seizures, who are currently under-represented in our sample.
We are currently seeking participants in the UK with #FND who experience *either* functional motor symptoms *or* functional seizures for our study on their shared/distinct causes and mechanisms. Please get in touch if interested or RT. Thank you @FNDHopeUK @FNDAction @NEAD_UK
We are still looking for participants for this study! Individuals with experience of depression and healthy controls needed. We'd be grateful for any more RTs and shares 🙏 ChatGPT participants not accepted!🤨
We are seeking participants for an online study about factors that contribute to different types of symptoms experienced in periods of low mood / depression. Please RT and/or share in real life. Thank you!
Very happy to share this! 🥳 Another paper from the pilot phase of @susannah_pick’s MRC CDA is now out! Exploring etiological factors and symptom triggers in #FND. Check it out below @neuroads_lab 🤩
New article from the lab out today!💥We present preliminary data on factors that might contribute to the development, onset and ongoing occurrence of functional seizures and motor symptoms #FND 👀🧐 neuro.psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/ap…

Great opportunity for a 3-year PhD studentship in our lab w/ @neuroads_lab & @mehta_mitul72, combining research with #nitrousoxide, #dissociative disorder patients, #EEG, and more. @KingsCollegeLon @NIHRMaudsleyBRC @KingsIoPPN Email me if interested maudsleybrc.nihr.ac.uk/academic-caree…
@NIHRMaudsleyBRC 2024 PhD studentships now open for applications. I'm offering projects: CO24-007-Digital intervention targeting autonomic/affective reactivity in FND (w Trudie Chalder), CO24-021-Identifying biomarkers of dissociative states (w @DevinTerhune @mehta_mitul72).
So glad to share our new paper reporting very promising outcomes from the @MaudsleyNHS multidisciplinary outpatient service for #FND. Brilliant work from joint first authors Lisette Guy and @gabicaceresG and all the 'FiND' team 👏👏 link.springer.com/article/10.100…
The team are very excited to be seeing the first participant in the lab today to kick off our new study on causes and mechanisms in #FND and affective symptoms! 🧠🫀 Number 1 of 200! Let's do this! 💪🧐
Site visits complete in neurology @KingsCollegeNHS and @StGeorgesTrust !✅ We are ready to start recruiting participants to our #FND samples! Very grateful to the brilliant clinical teams who are supporting the project!🌟 Next up @MaudsleyNHS and @uclh neuropsychiatry sites
We are very excited to have received the final approvals to open our new study on causes and mechanisms in #FND! Recruitment of participants starts this week!🎉
