Resiliency and resourcefulness often go hand in hand, and are usually the most overlooked qualities of mental toughness.
Someone told me they had no idea the festival was happening until the day of. There was a billboard outside of her business windows for 45 days prior. She was also part of a recurring newsletter notification. We do need more funding for ads but also: let’s wake up.

Some common positive feedback we’ve gotten about @MMidwst is re: how many people we had working together. Unexpected collaboration, volunteerism & partnerships from all corners of the city, region & nation. There are good people ready to collaborate if you’re willing to open up.
There is a real skill set in knowing when to take things seriously and when to absolutely not take yourself so seriously. We’re all wound too tight, y’all.

It takes stamina and resolve to absorb and distinguish between meaningful feedback and empty complaints. Grit is key. And an observation: most people are just whiners. If you can find someone to give you good, constructive feedback—keep them around. That’s creative gold.
