Urdu lesson of the day: The Urdu word for trans people is - Khwaja sira (خواجہ سرا) Trans people are rarely even mentioned in political discussions and when they are, they aren't referred to with a lot of respect. So make sure that the language you use, isnt disparaging.

I always see this video going around without credit for the speaker, but she is Tanuja Singham, a Tamil trans woman and thirunangai guru based in Germany. This was filmed at the Koovagam festival (I believe).

this is so scary and real!!!

When a person who outrightly dismissed the views of Muslim women-who actually know what it means to wear a hijab or not wear one-gets platformed in no time on a news platform, it speaks to the absence of diversity in the editorial leadership of Indian newsrooms.

Ruchika Sharma has spent the better part of 2 years debunking Hindutva claims while getting abuse and threats to her life but she didn't get an invite from the Print to talk about it and did get one when talking about Hijab.

For Brahmans, even getting trolled on social media is a "harrowing ordeal", while the marginalised (Muslims, Bahujans) have to actually endure and survive brutal physical violence and state persecution too. Yet, the Brahman-UC will claim to "do more to fight Hindutva fascism"…

I spoke to @SagrikaKissu at @ThePrintIndia about my harrowing ordeal for the past few days, the hijab and the now famous "invisible burger in the sky" comment! theprint.in/feature/ruchik…

Expecting meaningful organising from the Endian Left is so laughable to me. When 370 was abrogated and Kashmiris were put under a siege for over a year, a sum total of 5 people protested at jantar mantar for 1 full day. Endian "Progressives" are no one's allies. Dramebaaz dalle.

There's barely any meaningful resistance in India against Modi govt's culpability in the genocide in Gaza and its relationship with Israel. NONE politically. The govt has been blocking all screenings of Palestinian films. We should be on the streets.
