If Israel can just drop bombs on neighbourhoods and the world can’t stop it, what’s to stop another country from bombing us?

No need to ease regulations on guns, as the Senate bill does, we need even stronger regulation & enforcement. Why are we instead making it easier for guns to be used against all of us? bworldonline.com/opinion/2024/1…

Philippines' yes vote on the UNGA resolution for Israel to leave occupied Palestinian territory is consistent w/ asserting the arbitral Tribunal's favorable ruling on the West Philippine Sea based on UNCLOS, & ICC’s investigation on Duterte et al for the ‘war on drugs’ murders

This woman deserves a medal

Amidst the chaos, this woman held up a sign saying: 'Hope not hate. Racism not welcome here'.

Three days of @seawpm_ in Vientiane, with women diplomats in the region, and no less than Australian FM @SenatorWong and Indonesian FM @Menlu_RI setting the tone for the series of vibrant and enlightening discussions on diplomacy, ASEAN++, negotiations and conflict resolution.

Women have the indubitable capacity to focus on finding solutions to every challenge they face. Women can choose to be bridge builders among differences, and the resources available at the disposal of women ambassadors are unique and unparalleled to many.

Empowering women in decision-making roles strengthens economies and societies. Great to join the Southeast Asia Women Ambassadors’ Forum on Peace, highlighting the necessity of women's leadership in diplomacy. Thank you @ASEAN_IPR & @seawpm_ for this important conversation 🙏

At the Southeast Asian Women Ambassadors’ Forum on Peace, @Menlu_RI & I discussed the importance of having women in leadership positions, especially in foreign policy and diplomacy. When women are in decision making positions and are consulted, economies and societies benefit.

Will do exactly the same if this happens to me.

Ethiopian Airlines kicked out a passenger on my flight because a minister took her seat. They didn’t apologize and they eventually forcefully offloaded her screaming. The minister did nothing. Disgraceful

I learned more about the Maranaos from Nasser Marohomsalic’s fictionalised autobiographical accounts in his two short ‘novels.’ Reading his lyrical prose was truly enjoyable. Thank you Nasser for sharing yourself to many. You will live on in these stories.

Our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Commissioner Nasser Marohomsalic on his passing. His legacy of service, including his role as Commissioner of the National Amnesty Commission, will forever be honored for promoting peace and human rights in the Philippines

Ex-pres Rodrigo Duterte’s ‘war on drugs’ was only one of his heinous crimes. He & cronies in his Cabinet also enabled extrajudicial killings, torture, forced detention etc by promoting & protecting Chinese syndicates Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) during his term.

Today we remember Hansa Mehta, born #OnThisDay in 1897, a feminist leader, activist, and diplomat from India. She succeeded in changing “All men are born free and equal” in Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to “All human beings are born free and equal."

What I saw, heard & felt among these women is the fire to correct what has gone terribly worse in the world. But how? We don’t need just a campaign, really. We need a movement: against occupation, against arms, & the disrespect for & selectivity in upholding international law.

Women are key in peace processes. Here we have a group of us gathered around the joint @KofiAnnanFdn and @InterpeaceTweet Board meeting. @AMB_A_Mohammed, @mcoronelferrer, @HindKabawat and #KateGilmore. Thanks to the @SwissAmbUN_GVA for hosting us!
