In the top flight of the @J_League_En for the first time, I think unfancied & unfashionable Machida Zelvia are genuine title dark horses in 2024. theasiangame.net/ugly-ducklings…

It's back! The @J_League_En returns for a 32nd season this afternoon. Here are my contenders, pretenders and strugglers. As well as some young stars who could break through in 2024. theasiangame.net/contenders-pre…

Quite the change from Qatar to the Hungarian second division. The former club of Ferenc Puskas, now in the second tier, has fallen hard from their former glories but still have a passionate, local, but small following on the outskirts of Budapest.

Fantastic couple of weeks wrapped up in Qatar. Some great matches, brilliant goals, a real narrowing between the top & bottom teams. Lovely to catch up with old friends, make new ones and enjoy the camaraderie of football across Asia. Bring on Saudi Arabia in 2027.

Qatar & Jordan fans gathering on the eve of the ⁦@afcasiancup⁩ final in Doha. Thousands have come from Amman but are unable to get tix, being quoted up to ten times face value on the black market.

Fantastic story with Jordan through to their first Asian Cup final; 70,000 Jordanians here in Qatar and thousands more that have traveled celebrating through the night in Doha.

🇯🇵 Despite a mounting list of mistakes, Hajime Moriyasu has shown faith in Zion Suzuki between the sticks for @jfa_samuraiblue But is his faith in the 21-year-old misplaced? 📝 @mcintinhos theasiangame.net/stick-or-twist…

Another brilliant day of @afcasiancup action; great goals, upset results and celebrations through the night.

Knockout stages of the @afcasiancup about to get underway in Qatar with Australia & Indonesia facing off; plenty of support for the Garuda here; the first time they’ve reached this stage of the tournament. Follow @TheAsianGame for all our coverage from Qatar.

Been a fantastic couple of weeks to start the @afcasiancup and today Iraq are in action again. Rotated side means we won't get to see the hidden gem that is @Amiralammari but this is a side with echoes of 2007 that can go all the way. theasiangame.net/the-hidden-gem…

A look ahead to the new season in Asia's best domestic league, the @J_League_En which starts tonight. Young stars on the rise, players to watch, the contenders, the challengers and the strugglers. theasiangame.net/2023-j-league-…

This exactly.

"Its a results business" really is short sighted. Moriyasu winning two historic games doesn't make him a tactical genius. Australia making it out of the group doesn't mean Australian football is in a good place. Japan exiting in the R16, doesn't mean progress hasn't been made.

Today on the Doha Daily we look ahead to massive Round of 16 clashes for Japan and Korea Republic & visit a Falcon Hospital to learn just how important this ancient tradition is in Qatar. youtube.com/watch?v=DgTe14…
