Thanks @ABABankers for sharing our #NIL insights. Financial institutions are big sports sponsorship spenders - I expect the same will become true in the NIL world.

Banks are looking to leverage the growing name, image and likeness universe as it becomes a key part of any bank’s sports marketing strategy. Learn more from @MillerNashLLP attorneys @maynenic and @MaxForer here: aba.social/3sUFFQC

In an article for College Athletics and the Law, @MaxForer and @maynenic discuss the new trend of schools hiring #NIL general managers or marketing agencies, and the benefits and risks that come along with that approach: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.10…. #NameImageLikeness #SportsLaw

This is an excellent series - based on my experience, this paints a very accurate picture of agent life and the Wild West of recruiting and retaining clients. As I’ve been saying to those I know in the #NIL space - hockey is your crystal ball into the future of amateur sports.

As #NIL rights for student-athletes turn 1, I’m proud to have been able to work with our collective and institution clients on a number of groundbreaking deals, including many focused specifically on generating NIL opportunities for women’s teams.

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the NIL era in college sports. Excluding football, women's sports are leading the way 💰 (via @opendorse)

Another innovative #NIL activation from our friends at Division Street. Great way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of #TitleIX #TitleIX50

Great to be part of this panel on #NIL - happy to chat further with athletic directors facing these emerging issues.

What should schools and athletic departments really be doing to protect their student-athletes' NIL interests? What balance institutions should strike with collectives? A panel of the industry's top legal minds discussed at the inaugural @NILSummit: athleticdirectoru.com/video/protecti…

So true - major issue to watch. There are ways of operating a 501(c)(3) #NIL collective. But a majority of the current 501(c)(3)s have used EZ form applications (not IRS audited) and many have questionable purposes (despite advertising to donors that contributions are deductible)

I represent a number of collectives as well and this is going to be a real issue, even for those that already have 501(c)(3) status. 501(c)(3)’s have to file a 990 every year with the IRS showing all kinds of financial information, including compensation paid to certain people.

That's a wrap! @MaxForer and @MayneNic had a great time this week at the #NILSummit in Atlanta. We look forward to continuing our work, providing education and guidance, and supporting what's next for #CollegeAthletes, schools, brands, and others in the industry. #ImARealFan

Another state permitting direct facilitation, but just because you can facilitate #NIL deals, doesn’t mean you should. Plenty of added liability for schools that choose to handle directly. Need to proceed with caution and ensure staff understands the athletic dept’s limited role.

Missouri’s governor will sign the bill that amends the state’s NIL law tomorrow. It will allow schools and their employees to participate in the facilitation of deals for athletes.

Looking forward to discussing how to best protect college athletes at the @NILSummit this morning. Many athletes have expressed concern about not understanding #NIL contract terms and what they can/can't do under the NCAA's guidance. Much more can/should be done to educate.

Great insight from our friends at @Wasserman - has been awesome to hear from industry leaders on emerging #NIL issues at the #NILSummit. Looking forward to speaking tomorrow at 9 AM on protecting student-athletes.

It was great having agents from the world's largest multi-sport agency, @Wasserman teach student-athletes about the best practices on how to protect their long term interests when engaging in all things NIL! ✍️ #NILSummit
