Last year, Ohioans voted to enshrine the right to abortion in their state constitution. Today, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled to PERMANENTLY block the state’s 6-week ban. A powerful reminder that change is possible and worth fighting for! 💪

BREAKING: A state court permanently blocked Ohio’s six-week abortion ban from taking effect. This is the first permanent injunction issued against an abortion ban or restriction in the state since Ohio voters enshrined the right to abortion in the state Constitution in 2023.

Wow. (Bad wow).

In the little more than two years since Arkansas’s near-total ban on abortion access took effect, UAMS has seen OB-GYN residency applications drop by almost a third—from 390 for the 2022-23 academic year to 263 for the 2024-25 academic year. arkansasbusiness.com/article/ob-gyn…

The Care Post-Roe report from @ANSIRH shows that abortion bans have forced health care providers to deviate from standard practices, leading to delays in care and devastating health outcomes thecut.com/article/georgi…

BREAKING: Judge Strikes Down Georgia's 6-Week Abortion Ban huffpost.com/entry/judge-st…

Today, a Louisiana law goes into effect that classifies abortion pills as controlled substances. While it doesn't make it a crime for a pregnant person to have for their own use, cops and prosecutors misinterpret laws to target abortion seekers and those who support them.

This is heartbreaking, devastating, and knowing it was preventable makes it worse 💔 Abortion restrictions have threatened the lives of pregnant people more than abortion access ever has.

New: At least two women in Georgia died after they couldn't access legal abortions and timely medical care in their state, ProPublica has found. This is one of their stories. propub.li/3N7xPgN

They’d rather fight the malpractice claims that many antiabortion states hobbled with tort reform. You can’t tell the story of the status quo and hospital/dr choices without also talking about tort reform.

Save some fire for the MOST powerful and moneyed institutions in this ecosystem—who by the way are not lobbying against these bans either. They’ve decided they’d rather fight malpractice claims than fight the state.

One of the main contributions of my Abortion Disorientation paper is showing that the "removal of a dead fetus" exception within abortion definitions is WOEFULLY inadequate and causing tragic results. papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…

I don’t understand how they refused to perform a D&C, given that there was no 'unborn child' but only 'remains of fetal tissue.' Also, how can removing fetal tissue be understood as performing an abortion, since there is no 'purpose to terminate a pregnancy'? 😮
