Never lose sight of what having money is important for: spending more time with loved ones + having freedom to do what you want with your time. Money has no intrinsic value.


This morning, I had the pleasure of giving a personal finance talk to the Upper Remove (Year 11) at @UCSHampstead It’s so important to give young people foundational finance knowledge. So, thank you to the PSHE team for having me and facilitating a great session!

Savings is the gap between your ego and your income. You can only save and invest more each month if you are willing to buy less stuff. And show-off less.


Average returns for an above average amount of time, leads to extraordinary growth. Same for investing. Same for relationships. Same for careers.


The first step of financial planning is working out what game you’re playing. Are you playing a 25+ year game? Invest heavily in stocks. Do you need the money in 3 years? Play it safe with government bonds. Not everyone is playing the same game.
