Love that the fools in the replies are saying she is doing the right thing by not appearing and totally ignoring the substance of the tweet... the threat of legal action for them discussing the situation.

A word on @AllisonPearson free speech row and what she describes as a ‘Kafkaesque’ threat to it. Today on @TheNewsAgents, we asked her to appear. She said ‘No. And if you get any aspect of the story wrong my lawyers will be watching.’ You gotta love a free speech warrior

The national insurance increase is going to cause a hell of a mess. I don't think the government or media have scratched the surface on how bad a policy this will turn out to be.

Amazing exchange on @TimesRadio this morning

NHS league tables will further encourage cover ups and will skew healthcare away from where it is needed, to where the most "points" will be gained. Managers' focus will be on the wrong things. @wesstreeting you are beyond ignorant. But let's face it, your goal is privatisation.

Streeting to use league tables to identify poor performance hospitals. Ridiculous. How will he take account of lack of staff, equipment; poverty, ageing population in an area? He will send “turnaround teams” i.e. force privatisation of services. theguardian.com/society/2024/n…

Wes Streeting is an abhorrent moron. League tables in the NHS. It's not sport.

Imagine if he got as much coverage in the Western press as the plight of Israeli soccer hooligans.

Today, Ahmed Abdullah Ghazal, an elderly Palestinian from Sebastia in the West Bank, succumbed to his wounds after a brutal attack by Israeli settler terrorists a few days ago while he was picking olives on his land.

He is thick as mud

People like Lee Anderson have no substance whatsoever. Yet they show disdain for anyone who doesn’t agree with their half baked rhetoric. Would you really put the health of your family in their hands?

The absolute state of this. The BBC headline is 'Israeli football fans attacked in Amsterdam, officials say'. They then include a screenshot of Israeli football fans attacking a Dutch man. Just shameless, unhinged disinformation.

The majority of the media blatantly lied about the incident in Amsterdam, either championing or swallowing clear lies from authorities and Israel. Social media has been able to call out this total gaslighting exercise. The media lost a huge amout of credibility.

The perfect response from Bernie Sanders.

Scathing statement from Bernie Sanders on the election results “It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them…”

Centrist being a centrist. The Seymour Skinner level of reasoning is hilarious.

Kamala Harris was the perfect candidate and she ran a beautiful campaign of joy, empathy, and unity. She just happened to run in a nation that is addicted to nihilism, cruelty, and division.

Some of these policies will boost economic growth. Some of them won’t. What they will involve is a net transfer of wealth and power away from those at the top, towards everyone else. Which means we’re going to have to fight for them.

Invest in infrastructure, retrofit housing, and prepare for the climate disasters that are around the corner. Support local government, invest in communities, and boost the cooperative movement. Give people access to nature, to time, to the things that make life worth living.

Invest in healthcare, education, social care, and all the other services that people rely on every day. Support the labour movement and strengthen workers rights so they have the dignity of being able to bargain for higher wages.

It’s still possible to make people’s lives better, but not through tax cuts for the rich and investment incentives for big business. Politicians have to stop talking about boosting ‘the economy’, and start talking about supporting the people who make the economy go round.

Looking to the future, while growth will be lower, GDP will still rise and stock markets will still boom. But all the wealth created will continue to go to the rich. People’s lives will not get better. And they will get more and more angry about what they have lost.
