I'm finding my time on BlueSky maryrussell.bsky.social far more rewarding than here. Although I was an early adopter of Twitter (Jan. 2009) and have posted here every day, I'm leaving. You can find me at the above site and address.

Interesting.

The term 'Fall' for Autumn possibly started in Sussex before the 1500s, initially known as 'Harvest' due to the falling of leaves and fruits. 'Autumn' gained popularity in the mid-1600s, yet 'Fall' remained and was introduced to North America by followers of William Penn.

I've noticed that tree often. It is lovely.

A beautiful strawberry tree beside @bodleianlibs #Oxford 🍓🌳❤️ Arbutus first came to England in 1586 sent as a gift from Ireland to Walsingham and the Earl of Leicester. I love that it both flowers & fruits in November!

Don't miss this even, live on FB tomorrow 16, Nov.

I have opened an account on BlueSky @maryrussell.bsky.social and will be closing this account by Dec. 1st. Join me over at the new platform and say hello.

A view Holmes and I have enjoyed for as long as we have known each other.

'Mudlarks', 'Chop-backs' & 'Pork-bolters' are just some of the traditional nicknames given to fishermen along the Sussex coast, depending on where they came from. ⠀ ⠀⠀ Can you guess where each one is said to come from?⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 📷 Hannah Temple 📍 Beachy Head Lighthouse

Interesting, Ms King and I have been discussing opening an account.

Holmes and I have been summoned to Mycroft's flat for a consultation. My brother-in-law can be demanding but usually there is a serious reason so off we go to London.

Ms King and some friends will be live on Facebook this coming Saturday. Join them to discuss the community built by my memoirs.

This has been a day filled with memories and ghosts. So many have made the great sacrifice – let us all never forget.

"I cannot fathom this. I can't begin to understand. I'm going to wake up now and find it's all one of those loopy dreams. They can't be serious." JUST
