A privilege to be at my first COP29 as the UK’s Climate Minister. Action is now more important than ever. Recent and tragic events in Spain have shown again that nothing is more central to the UK’s national interest than delivering global progress on tackling climate change.

Discovered a new reason I hate Daylight Savings - now being harassed by this guy calling for breakfast an extra hour before the alarm goes

Had a not particularly pleasant interaction with some kids trying to stop me cycling past them on the Bristol to Bath railway path in Easton yesterday evening who I blew past. Found out someone was violently mugged on that stretch too recently - stay safe out there.

Bristol City Council's proposal to de-fund our Advice & Support Service would leave Bristol with no dedicated HIV support services. If you disagree please respond to the consultation ask.bristol.gov.uk/help-when-you-… #HIV #StopTheCuts #Bristol #FastTrackCity #UequalsU

I wonder how many Daniel Kaluuya's we've missed out on in the last two decades because the UK's creative industries refuse to recognise that casting from the same private schools can only get you so far. The story of Skins is a story of investing in working class talent.

we wouldn’t have brat without them

"I feel loved". Habib, originally from Gambia, decided to join a huge crowd in Old Market as rumours spread of a possible anti-immigration protest in #Bristol. His advice to everyone is "just to be peaceful".

Becoming a dinosaur scientist and winning a gold medal for jumping on the trampoline, don't tell any 7 year old their dreams are out of reach

OMG, Bryony Page, who just won Olympic Gold for trampolining, studied palaeontology and wrote her dissertation on acoustic signalling in dinosaurs 🤩🦖🦕

It was not the police who initially protected the people inside the hotel from the violent mob, it was a group of Bristol people, who lined up to face them down. The police arrived later x.com/cez_thomas/sta…

Unsurprisingly in this moral cesspit formerly known as twitter, I’m seeing a lot of sympathy for Angela Carini’s Olympic dream ending… But very little for Imane Khelif, a biological female, who is having her gender, identity and integrity questioned via a trial by social media.

Delighted that Stapleton is getting a bus service again. As a councillor, I supported the community-led campaign to restore a bus service to the neighbourhood, so I'm delighted that First has announced it'll be running a new 50 service via Stapleton. uk.news.yahoo.com/first-announce…...

When the average age of a councillor is now 60, I wrote about the younger people getting involved with politics for @BBCBristol Big thanks to @henry_michallat @marleybennett @AlexH4rtley, Ashleigh from @CheltGreenParty & @DeclanBaseley bbc.com/news/articles/…

Well worth a watch, if you can stand seeing a few words from yours truly. Clearly I've redownloaded Twitter!

Great to have the opportunity to appear on Sunday Politics West this morning along with other ‘young’ politicians in Bristol. You can catch up with the interview here from 22:00: bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod…
