Fun fact; In the outskirts of Portland is a nice little shop in an anonymous industrial park. You walk in to a little foyer with a folding card table and 9 thick, vacuum sealed Mylar bags, each about 1' long and 4" in diameter. They are sitting on top of about 70 pages of…

Thanks Jeff Lawson for buying the Onion so we could get this great zoom in on electoral coverage. No other news source has gone to this level of detail.

Crypto fails over and over every time

US reveals it will borrow (at least) $1.1 trillion in next six months and gold and crypto dump.

Worst part about Google Domains to Squarespace transition is Squarespace holding the domains hostage by forcing 5 day waiting period to transfer. Every other registrar I've experienced allows you to proactively approve the transfer

At least Huberman has a sense of humor. Level 10 trolling or unfortunate timing?

Why learning how a magic trick is done is like the loss of romantic love. @Asiwind on the Huberman Lab podcast out now.

Just when you think you've seen the most ridiculous Jones Act mess you could ever possibly see, the Jones Act pops up again behind you Undertaker-style to remind that it can ALWAYS get worse: lexology.com/library/detail…

The issue of emit being able to clear encampments would seem central to helping the homeless. But if this were the real reason, why aren’t there encampments in Beverley Hills? And what groups are suing to keep homeless on the streets? politico.com/news/2023/09/2…

Jimmy Buffett’s Margarita Machine is one of the best pieces of engineering technology I have ever encountered in my life. Deep respect for a man that can both maximize marketing and fun/function at the same time. RIP.

Someone sent me this thread, so I thought it might be fun to real-time go through and do some basic fact-checking to see how much of it is factually accurate Will my mind be blown?

Your doctor can’t do 10 pushups. But yet you keep trusting them to take care of your health. Here are 20 mind-blowing things they don’t want you to know about the “sick-care” system:

I can’t imagine this take. What on earth would you go do? At a minimum you should learn how to build and maintain the AI. It’s all the other engineering disciplines that should be switching to software.

If you're just starting to learn software engineering right now but you're considering dropping it because you think the field might be made obsolete by AI, I have an alternative approach to suggest for you: Start learning now, and use AI tools to learn FASTER
