#ClimateActionNow . Somalia is bearing the brunt of the #ClimateEmergency. It has become the major driver of poverty, displacement and health inequality in the country. This is an existential threat to the economy and social fabric of the country.

The government's statement emphasizes that #ClimateChange poses an existential danger, necessitating a concerted worldwide action. The stark truth of severe weather impacts in #Somalia & their destructive consequences calls for a collaborative response. #DanQaran #RoadToCOP28

This is unbearable, tragic and horrifying. No words to condole and console. This horror must stop now.

My colleagues and I are devastated: we have lost one of our own in #Gaza today. Our young @WHOoPt colleague Dima Alhaj was tragically killed alongside her 6 month old baby, her husband and 2 brothers. Reportedly multiple other family members sheltering in the same house were…

#On assignment for WHO, I met a member of mothers and their children, many of them told harrowing stories of drought and COVID-19 over the past year. Thanks to WHO's humanitarian and health support, these families were able to recover and regain control of their lives.

Preventing backslide of routine immunization will ‘Make Polio History’. We have the means to #EndPolio. #WorldPolioDay

Scaling up immunization efforts to prevent further backslide and reaching all unimmunized, under-immunized and zero dose children with a drop of polio and other childhood vaccines will push the country towards reaching polio eradication. Let's "Make Polio History". #WorldPolioDay

#Frontline heroes. Thank you for keeping the world safer.

We salute frontline health workers who are working under very demanding & challenging circumstances, reaching every child with a drop of polio & striving to. We call upon all humanitarian partners in Somalia to join forces to stop polio outbreak & provide them a healthier future.

The #WorldPolioDay reminds us of our unfinished tasks and challenges ahead ! Stopping the polio outbreak anywhere is a moral imperative if we want an equal opportunity for all children everywhere! #EndPolio is not a slogan, it is a global call for action implemented locally.…

As we mark the #WoroldPolioDay, let us renew our efforts to “Make Polio History” in #Somalia. So far 32 Somali children have been paralyzed by the outbreak of cVDPV2 preventing each of these children from leading a healthier and happier life.

Tweet Image 1

The goal of #EndPolio is within reach. What we need is quality campaign and scaled-up vaccination in the under-immunized communities who are also most marginalized and excluded. Ending polio also means ending vaccine inequity. #WorldPolioDay

This outbreak can be stopped, and every child can be prevented from being paralyzed if we improve routine immunization and reach all "unreached" children with a drop of polio virus. We can do it and "Make Polio History" forever in this country. #WorldPolioDay, #EndPolioNow
