Exercise physiologists tell us that only after about 2 hours of running does the body fully deplete its stores of glycogen. This is one of the reasons runners hit the wall at 20 miles. Successfully overcoming that obstacle is what makes the marathon such a special event.

Muscles operate efficiently only if supplied with large quantities of oxygen. When your heart muscle becomes stronger and your cardiovascular system operates more efficiently, you will be able to run faster. Training causes this to happen.

I’ve been asked this question a lot: At what point during each day did you know you were going to finish? The answer was: As soon as I started swimming. This is the mindset you have to have with any big challenge. Just start. #TriWeek #swimlife #tyr #tyrsport

Never get out of shape: This is the simplest secret for avoiding injury: Keep running. Maintaining a solid base means that when you want to increase your training to achieve a specific goal, you don't need to push too hard or too fast. Mileage increases should be made gradually.
