@mamathewriterADHD sahm writing 🌶 dystopian romance and romantasy 🖤 WIP 1: Black Phoenix 💜 WIP 2: A Curse of Crows and Shadows
If you want to become a successful author, the most important thing ISN'T: -to get an MFA -to build a huge social media following -to make connections w/ people in the industry It’s actually quite simple: 🧵
Have only about four or five chapters left to write on this rough draft. This is the closest I've ever come to finishing something since a friend and I wrote a romcom inspired by the two student teachers we were convinced were banging in high school 😂 #WritingCommunity
Just finished reading Heartless Hunter and I am not okay
Oh, you know. Just finally starting my writing day at 1am and going to forgo proper sleep the night before having a house full of people because my characters are fighting and I can't let them go to bed angry #amwriting #WritingCommunity #writinglife #toddlermom
I feel this so hard
There is so much pressure to have an amazing debut novel. Like, I’m just a girl who opened a google doc one day.
Had a first page critique today with a published writer via @Write_Hive He said he'd been doing critiques with them for a few years now and mine was one of the better ones he'd seen. Huge words of encouragement when I still feel so new to the #writingcommunity
Probably the biggest thing that I've learned so far on writing Twitter is that querying is soul crushing and awful and that once I get to that stage, I should expect constant heartbreak for like three years straight. It's making self publishing look pretty good.
The hardest part of writing is expressing yourself through your characters while maintaining plausible deniability. Oh, that? No, no, that's just some trauma I made up for John Protagonist. That never happened to me. I'm a normal amount of damaged... whatever that is.
Shout out to all the other parents who only get to write after their toddlers have gone to bed #midnightsquad
Amazing 😂
This thread did not disappoint
I need to write a sex scene for this book. As someone who's never written a steamy passage, obviously I should crowdsource some how-to's from writingtwt. What are your worst tips for writing a sex scene?
Grew up watching her with my Nana. Always thought was hilarious, even when I was too young to get the jokes
Happy 91st Birthday to Carol Burnett, who led The Beatles of comedy.
Phew! Added 50k to my manuscript this month for a total of 80k. After telling myself my goal for the month was only 20k. 😂 #NaNoWinner2023 #NaNoWriMo #Nanowrimo2023
Remember how the quirky "write a book in 30 days" #NaNoWriMo program allegedly ignored reports of minors possibly being funneled to a ADBL fetish site from their forum & allegedly didn't investigate even tho it allegedly involved one of their mods? *Pepperidge Farm Remembers*🧵
Me: okay, I'll sign up for NaNo this year, but with a personal goal of only 20k, because I have a toddler Also me: #amwriting #NaNoWriMo #Nanowrimo2023
