It was another beautiful late autumn day when I was in Glen Affric yesterday - windstill, with the last bright yellow leaves on some of the birch trees, & huge numbers of bright red berries on the rowans. I can't recall a year when there were as many rowan berries as this one!

It is designed to diminish the status of our Parliament and the First Minister. Part of becoming independent is about thinking independently, not subserviently. John should have politely declined the meeting with the words “Scotland is a country not a county”. (5/5)

£22 billion for a machine that will capture carbon and store it? You've been robbed mate

Imagine if they spent £22 billion on restoring peat bogs, the oceans, forests (proven carbon capture), or on public transport, insulation, solar – literally anything but this, which is just playing into the hands of the fossil fuel bros and delaying the transition to green energy

Letter from leading scientists calling for the Gov to halt & re-assess carbon capture plans. We know the previous Gov was captured by Big Oil. Labour now really needs to listen to these experts. theguardian.com/environment/20… Key points 🧵 @campaigncc @Andrew9Boswell @KevinClimate

Taken together with the ongoing genocide being committed by Israel with the total support of the West, it's clear that our modern day capitalist industrial 'endless economic growth at any cost' culture is on a suicide course to complete collapse. Radical change is needed now!

Get a wiggle on… Restoring meanders to previously straightened rivers can lead to extraordinary results. “Within 3 months of that river being re-wiggled the salmon were spawning in that 1 kilometre stretch for the first time in 150 years”. Astonishing. bbc.com/future/article…

Danes have a unique education system - 15 year olds get a part-state-funded year away from home, studying something they love (like diving) + academic work. Would Scots ever do the same? Denmark - a State of Happiness film in Stonehaven this Monday. Tix lesleyriddoch.com/events

That's the thing with Independence, after we leave Scottish politics will change. SNP will lose their strangle hold, Labour, LibDems and yes, even the Tories, will start to offer "actual" Scottish policies, not just whatever London wants. We'll get what we actually vote for.

malcolm cheyne Reposted

If it’s taken away in England there are no ‘Barnett Consequentials’ to fund it in Scotland. Devolved matters in Scotland are dependent on decisions made at Westminster. Scotland has control of a fraction of the tax raising powers that the UK has. Independence is the solution.
