I'm opening up the Product leaders in healthcare slack I run for more members! If you're a Head of Product, VP Product, or CPO at a venture backed healthcare startup that is doing more than $5M in ARR check out the link in this thread to join!

Love this slide & this talk, I just hired one of these folks & am about to hire another. Really makes me want to write the version of this that’s what it takes to be a good manager of these people/how the era of being a “manager only” is over.

This single slide from @clairevo from Config makes me jump in joy. Always been an advocate of this product mindset and will continue to do so. 💯

Finally opening up a role that I am so excited about: come help us put AI to work for restaurants. The team is amazing, the opportunity is huge, & there are so many good problems to tackle. Right experience but not sure abt the level? Please reach out! careers.toasttab.com/jobs/product-l…

Alright got the posting up for this, please apply! careers.toasttab.com/jobs/principal…

Alright I’m back and also hiring! Exciting new role opening up on the team for a super senior IC PM, working directly with me on our support experience. Looking for someone who can gsd, can build product and matching ops workflows, gets excited abt helping restaurants run.

What do product leaders use for roadmaps these days? We have outgrown our current homegrown solution and looking for options. I want simple now/next/later roadmaps, nested by Product Team, Product Group, Product Line. I don't want other bloat: OKRs, feature requests, etc.

Couple easy (I promise) ways to get better at writing! One of the most important skills in product roles and in work generally.

2 easy tricks for improving your writing from @maggiecrowley

Forgot how much I loved recording. Hope you all enjoy some hot takes, a simple strategy template, & what I think makes PMs successful. Thanks to @lennysan for having me!

Been heads down recently but Scaling People by @chughesjohnson has quickly become my new favorite desk reference. Incredible resource for leaders/managers. press.stripe.com/scaling-people

Hard to pass up an opportunity to work with legends like John and @craigdaniel, plus get back to an industry that I love.

This post is unavailable.

California people: anyone have recommendations for accountants? Ideally someone w/ experience in both entertainment + tech

Thank you for the shout out @johncutlefish! I miss doing the show & having an excuse to ask smart people to help me with my job. Jealous that you & @craigdaniel get to work together now. Great episode with @lennysan 👏🏻 podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/len…

Interesting to hear non-tech friends/fam mention “tech debt” in relation to Southwest. As if all debt is bad & not an intentional choice to borrow against the future. Shocked when I mention that ALL software has it, even that one product they love that always works.

Tired of the “X doesn’t matter” thing that goes around occasionally. Grades and titles matter if you’re part of an under represented group and can’t just rely on privileged access to get opportunities. They’re not the only things that matter but they’re not insignificant.

Common misconception that you get ahead in product by “doing strategy” when really you get ahead by focusing & going extremely deep in your problem area. That depth is what unlocks the insights you’ll need to execute, which is really how you get ahead.

Product/market fit is just a fun way to say your go-to-market system is working and people are actually using/buying your product when you’re a startup.

My suggestion is to say no to sync meetings and instead do the following: - frequently publish your progress in email or slack so people can “sync” asynchronously with what you are doing. - if you do meet, make sure it is a designed meeting, a mechanism for making progress.

Excited to finally be able to share the latest research from our incredible outcomes team. If you're looking for a role with direct impact, we're hiring! In particular, we just opened up a role on the PM team focused on clinical systems. DMs are open! charliehealth.com/post/new-resea…
