Something I saw recently inspired me to write. This one is on how I got lucky to make a lot of great friends, but not been great at remaining one, how it became difficult to make new friends over time, but when it did happen, they were special.

About a Saturday morning that did not go to plan, a run I did not finish and the questions it left me with.

More meaningless international bilateral series should happen because it is not just a chance to see a great innings from Sanju Samson, but it also results in even better prose that describes it from @El_Chopernos .

Wrote a few words on Sanju Samson's genius last evening Give it a read, maybe? open.substack.com/pub/cricketwit…

I’ll be kicking off (Un)Conference ‘24 this weekend with a fireside chat with @madnavin We'll dive into the wild ride of building two unicorns – @InMobi and @Glance Some old stories, lessons, and a fair share of laughs are bound to come up during any chat with Maddy, especially…

What it takes to build a billion-dollar brand? Meet the mastermind behind not one, but TWO billion-dollar ventures - @NaveenTewari, CEO & Founder of InMobi & Glance. 🚀 In 2007, he turned InMobi into one of India’s first unicorn by disrupting the global mobile advertising…

Tough week for Bangalore residents who also happen to be fans of test cricket. Can’t celebrate the beautiful weather because you are mourning the fact that your match tickets and plans to watch the team are likely going to be ruined 😢.

Sunday mornings are meant for long reads. Make this the one for today to know about the magic of Olympics. As is anything that @tarequelaskar does, this is a beautiful read, loads of stories & nuggets from the past and has his personal touch on what it felt like to be there.

It took me only 24 hours to write. As in I *wrote* for 24 hours over a span of 4 days. 7500 words later, the #Paris2024 diary is done. Heads up - this is quite personal so there’s no Paris tourist guide or suggestions on how india can win more medals tarequegetsporty.wordpress.com/2024/08/18/i-w…

Being at the Olympics inspired me in many ways, it also finally got me to start writing again. Before my super long Olympic post, here is a preview on what you can expect. open.substack.com/pub/beingaspor… Also, debut post how my 2 hobbies helped me pick a name. open.substack.com/pub/beingaspor…

Forget the iconic venues or scenic settings, the real surprise of the Paris Olympics was how easy it was to use public transport. 7 venues spread across the city mostly traversed through metro, bus & tram. Clear signs + modifications inside trains. Just beautiful for a visitor.

Made more Olympic memories. Watching Neeraj win a silver and then also happening to be there when he gets it was truly special. Got our India highlight as well for the trip :). Saw Mirabhai Chanu , Noah Lyles , 4*100 relays, hurdlers and long distance runners too.

“Being a sport” is overrated. Sports is cruel AND you are expected to take defeat well? Us at the games this week - Lakshya, Hockey, Mirabhai Chanu. And of course the Vinesh heartbreak to top it off. Just being there has been hard. How are athletes expected to “Be a sport”?

#Paris2024 #Olympics #Wrestling She made the weight on Tuesday. She defeated Yui Susaki on Tuesday. She reached the final on Tuesday. Don't any rules can take that away from Vinesh Phogat.

Absolutely heartbreaking. Not sure if there is any athlete who has had to suffer as much as Vinesh has.

Breaking: Vinesh Phogat likely to be disqualified, may miss #Paris2024 medal #wrrstling indianexpress.com/article/sports…

#Paris2024 #Olympics #Wrestling Nightmare injury in Rio. Couldn't quite get going in Tokyo. Took to the streets in Delhi. No clarity on future. ACL surgery. Going down to 50kg to try & reach Paris. Now, Vinesh Phogat will be an Olympic medallist 🏅 indianexpress.com/article/sports…

Remember while felicitating her that Vinesh was being dragged by callous policemen on the streets of Delhi - this was months before Paris while her competitors were training. This isn’t any one else’s medal - this is just VINESH’S medal - let no one take credit for this
