you alll are not allies to the Indigenous movement if you don't know the history of Indigenous tribes being raped by colonizers and basically trying to rape the Indigenous out of them, which is why some Indigenous people are white-passing. they are mixed, but they are

imagine being white and doing this

my original tweet was mostly a joke but europe was run by calvinists for a long time and they basically believed food was for sustenance only and not to be enjoyed. that’s the real reason europe eats like that

African American enslaved people invented delicious, world famous, savory cuisine (also desired by their captors) off of scraps. I’m not hearing this excuse at all!

I worked an 8 hrs shift today on register and made $168, before taxes. I rung up $3500+ in sales in those 8 hrs in my little cafe with no seating in south Brooklyn. I will remember this during bargaining tomorrow.

I'm sorry, you have to be paying sooo little attention to what's happening in Gaza to only just now be realizing they still have to pay for rent and food and whatnot. It's so expensive there. Why do you think there's all these fundraisers??

When I was stripping in atlantic city, the main customers were bachelor parties. "Average" men who were about to get married and brought their "average" friends, many of whom were already married. Many customers were cops/state troopers, professors, men that worked in tech (1/?)

being a sex worker teaches you literally nothing about the average man bc the average man doesn’t see sex workers

Mate, your entire assessment is based solely on your hurt feelings from being ratioed for your bad takes so often. Our job is to persuade people of the legitimacy of our positions. Not concede to positions our politics and culture has manufactured consent for...

Disabled people often have to pay for their own mobility aids and some wheelchairs can cost more than £6,000, so how are disabled people meant to save up to buy one without losing their benefits? How is that fair? #DisabledPeopleDemand

When I worked in homelessness people understood that if you called the police on your clients, your clients had a high chance of being hurt in some way. So we often handled incidents ourselves - often more successfully than calling the cops. That is aboltion.

How did the left end up with a bunch of positions that are completely alien to the people we aspire to represent? I loved this conversation with @ayocaesar

mina Reposted

Abolition has become one of the most popular, 21st century *radical* ideas of what a different world could look like, not just in the West but across the globe. From Palestine, to End SARS, to BLM.

mina Reposted

It's disappointing that the conversation in left media on abolition still has such a surface level analysis that fixates on what the word aboltion communicates (e.g. getting rid of the police is "wacky") instead of the substance of the idea: we need systems of care that work.
