Accessing GPU clusters or high-performance computers can be a challenge in Brazil, so I created a Colab notebook for NetSci to perform GC analysis. It works seamlessly, even with Colab’s free tier! Check it out here: colab.research.google.com/drive/1GGJKrCo…

Help me before you leave! Has anyone done a cryoEM starter pack on bsky? or a virology one? Did you use any tool to migrate the people you follow automatically? Jumping ship a bit late, I know... HALP!
Abstract submission is open NOW for @ASReproImmuno #ASRI2025 meeting in St. Paul, MN! Please join us in the Land of 10,000 Immune Reactions! theasri.org/Abstracts-Post…
For a PhD student, choosing a good lab is 10 times more important than choosing a particular topic to study
By combining plasma FIB with serial lift out approaches, we demonstrate a robust pipeline for generating huge amounts of in situ tissue cryo-ET data (>25 lift outs, >180 lamellae, >600 targeted tomograms!)
OMG. Anyone want to come to ASRI '25 and stay for a postdoc?
What an amazing group!
@ProfAmbrose you are not on that picture, where were you? 😄 missing you here😉 Women in Science 👌

Because of annoying complications with the use of images prepared on BioRender @iamscicomm for publication or presentations, our lab will be exploring open-source alternatives like bioicons.com or drawing our own images with Illustrator.
⚠️Here’s yet another option other than BioRender! ⚠️ 📢 SciDraw is a free repository of high quality drawings of animals, scientific setups, and anything that might be useful for scientific presentations and posters. 🔁❤️Free Science! RIP BioRender!!
Free scientific illustrations for biologists! 😍 @NIH has released a library of 500+ free scientific illustrations to create figures, presentations, and illustrations! all freely available in the public domain. Retweet and spread the message! bioart.niaid.nih.gov
Join us tomorrow for Molecular Virology Seminar to hear from Prof. Kinjal Majumder about work in the @Majumder_Lab on parvoviruses and the DNA damage response.
Our work presents the first cryo-ET image of the authentic #Mpox virus and its 3D reconstruction. It's a huge virus. Details in: rdcu.be/dXFp2
Thank you for the warm welcome! I’m excited to join the incredible team & continue advancing #CryoEM and #CryoET. A heartfelt thank you to my amazing team & colleagues at @thermosciEMSpec for an unforgettable journey the last 7 years. Ready to build on that momentum at St. Jude!
We have exciting news to share! Abhay Kotecha (@abhaykot) is joining us as Senior Director of Technologies for Cryo-EM and Cryo-ET. We're thrilled to have him continue his great work in #CryoET, building on his innovation at @thermosciEMSpec Welcome to @stjuderesearch, Abhay!

Cold-emailing potential postdoc advisors is a hugely successful strategy! Here is the exact e-mail I sent back in the day (& it worked) - feel free to use as a template: docs.google.com/document/d/1Ob…
When you're looking for a #postdoc - do you wait for labs to advertise or send a 'cold' application? Unsolicited applications can be VERY effective nature.com/articles/d4158… So don't hesitate to apply directly to labs you're interested in - its always worked really well for us!
Happy that our review "HIV-1 assembly – when virology meets biophysics" is now released. Thanks @J_Cell_Sci for inviting us to write it!
In their Review, @ClaireLctr, Baptiste Carrio, Cyril Favard and @DMuriaux @VirAssemblyLab discuss the mechanisms of assembly of the HIV-1 structural protein Gag from biophysical and biological perspectives. journals.biologists.com/jcs/article/13…
The super talented @svenklumpe visited the @biozentrum to teach our students about #cryoET workflows, cryo lift-out, and his very cool research into retrotransposon particles. Thanks Sven!
The HIV-DRP would like to welcome Rebecca Grande, Ph.D., & Thomas Lidahl, B.S., to Dr. Eric Freed's Lab! @theNCI @NIH @NCICCR_HIVDRP @NCIResearchCtr
