Ever live in a town where you despise the local government, can't stand most of the residents but feel you need to stay for the few friends you have. Your friends need a boost, now and then, to get through tough times. Sorta like I feel, right now, about this social media spot!
Second great grandson arrived, yesterday, 6 wks early. 4 1/2 lbs. In the NICU Children's Mercy, KC. Seems to be doing quite well. Today's medical technology is awesome!!
Been a rough day. But, have to get over my disappointment with my fellow Americans. The faith I've had in them has been fractured. Will be difficult to trust them again. But, our family is strong and we have so much to be thankful for. Tomorrow is another day and life goes on!
Woke to what was apparent late last night. Too many shudder at the thought of a woman in power, another person of color in power, and that their wives/daughters might actually have the same rights as do they. Our Country is on a downward spiral from which we may never recover.
Sorry to be such a downer. This old man is heading to bed, knowing rest will be difficult, but also having faith there are millions of good Americans out there who will work hard to keep the faith. Our Country will need us to stay strong!

A person who was the artist of an attack on our Capitol, who allegedly sold our secrets to our enemies, who has sworn retaliation on his political enemies and will fire military brass who won't do his bidding may be our next POTUS. The sea rises with the tears of Lady Liberty.
Hundreds of thousands of those who have given their lives to preserve our freedoms over the past almost 250 yrs are weeping in their graves as they see their sacrifice close to going for naught. This 78 yr old man is having difficulty holding back the tears.....

2) Yes, I understand none of us know that lies ahead. Too many young folks are lost when so many my age are kept alive not knowing who they are or where they are. So many advances in medical technology. Yet, cancer still takes way too many from us.
1) A little more explanation of my tough day turning 78. 10 days ago, a son-in-law age 49 was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Nothing additional re severity, but usually terminal. 46% survive more than 5 yrs. Why should a young person be hit with cancer and I celebrate 78?
Rough day. No idea why turning 78, today, seems so much older than 77 yesterday. I had trouble when I turned 50. Almost as much trouble as I am hitting 78. Should be thankful I've made it this far, instead of grumbling and whining. Sorry.......
