Educators are not burning out because they need to do better at self-care. Educators are burning out because of how they are being treated, what is being expected of them, low levels of respect, etc. Maybe we wouldn't need as much self-care if we addressed the other issues.
Do any leaders in FE actual care about teaching standards & integrity anymore?I see instances of centre malpractice daily and no one seems to care.Lecturers doing what they want,how they want & when they want-no one seems to see it or want to manage it. #studentsdeservebetter

FE should not be run as a business. It should be community colleges, running courses people want. Plenty of examples of courses cancelled when the student numbers are say 18 required and only 16 enrolled. Terrible guidance to live by. #EducationOverBusiness
Or leaders cover each other’s backs regardless . This might explain why,in Education,it’s near impossible to have a grievance(informal or formal) successfully upheld against a leader/ manager when the processes for investigation are generally overseen by their equals or leaders.
Tomorrow (Sat 16th March) marks 600 days since we received our last pay rise (which of course was also late) We work hard. We are professional. Outwith ASOS, we go over and above regularly. Fair pay should be the minimum we receive. @EISFela @EISUnion #FightingForFE

As we are (rightly) looking at Paul Little's expenses again, a reminder that @CofGCollege sent him on an 8-week management course at Harvard that cost £50k. That's more than I was ever paid for an entire year of teaching in a college.
What could possibly justify a college principal in Glasgow, claiming £13,000 expenses for a private members club in London, when his own staff are underpaid? @scotgov, @GraemeDeyMSP, @JennyGilruth here’s the culture you created when you allowed public spending with impunity.
