Very excited that this methodological paper of my PhD is out now! 🥳We present a novel method (with BLE beacons and a 📱app) to measure physical proximity between persons in daily life and trigger questionnaires based on this proximity: link.springer.com/article/10.375… #psynomBRM

After presenting our study at #ECREA24 @ECREACYM, I am looking forward to enjoy the rest of the conference and Ljubljana!

@lhcjanssen presenting the findings of our 100-day diary study. “Adolescents mostly communicate about managerial and monitoring topics with their parents online, but also support and monitor their parents.” #ecrea2024

📢(1) New preprint: In our latest @UvA_AWeSome study, conducted together with @IneBeyens, @lhcjanssen, and @pmvalkenburg, we analyzed 44,211 daily diaries from 479 adolescents, tracking their person-specific social media use and mental health across 100 days.

📢Our new @UvA_AWeSome study shows that social media’s impact on three important dimensions of mental health – well-being, self-esteem, & close friendships – is predominantly negative for 60% of adolescents. However, effects varied between platforms. See: osf.io/preprints/psya…

Had a wonderful time at my first #Etmaal2024! Such a nice way to meet other CAM researchers, hear about their work, and discuss my own! 💫

#Etmaal2024 is still going strong on day 2 💪. This morning, we had a super interesting session on parents and children online, where @lhcjanssen talked about parent-adolescent communication online 📲.

1/2 Youth & Social Media Symposium 📱👨‍👧 Today, @lhcjanssen presented her study on how parents and teens communicate online. She showed that their communication is infrequent and mostly concerned managerial tasks. Interestingly, kids also monitor and support their parents 🔎💪!

Happy to share the latest preprint written together with my colleagues of @UvA_AWeSome about how often, how long, and about what adolescents communicate online with their parents and how this differs between adolescents! 📱👩‍👩‍👧

📌📢Super excited to share our latest preprint! @lhcjanssen investigated patterns of parent-adolescent online communication over 100 days 👩‍👦👨‍👧. Read the full paper here: osf.io/preprints/psya…
