A thing I’ve observed in a lot of relationships is that some people genuinely don’t want to put any work in. They are confused when things require a little more effort, patience and understanding. I hear “well why can’t they just get it right the first time” a lot.

i used to think communication was a key until i realized comprehension is. you can communicate all you want with someone but if they don’t understand you or refuse to understand, communication is useless.
