This day marks the 49th anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald sinking to the bottom of Lake Superior. It brings me chills everytime I hear the name as I cannot fathom the fear and terror these 29 men endured. The Arthur Anderson still is an active fleet in the Great Lakes.
On this day in 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald sank beneath the waves of Lake Superior during a massive storm. The sinking took the lives of all 29 men on the ship, and became immortalized in Gordon Lightfoot's song. Let's learn more about this tragedy. 🧵1/20
