Great session on maternal tb and powerful messages from survivors on the challenges of treatment during pregnancy. Pregnancy + parenting are hard enough - we must offer better options to women to keep them and their children healthy. #EndTB #UnionConf 🤰

Up early (☕️) to tune in to this session👇about TB disease thresholds and why it matters. Terrific talk by @kc_horton on modeling states of TB natural history already made it worth it!

Excited for this #TBUnion session about where the TB disease threshold lies and why it matters. Such a tricky and important question. @Rein_Houben @hanifesmail_tb @AnnaCoussens @kc_horton

Great #TBScience session on incipient and subclinical TB! Lovely close by @foxsimile: “We don’t need to be paralyzed by the categories we are imposing on ourselves to get started with active case finding. As we go we will gain a better understanding of early and subclinical TB.”

Exciting news on a vaccine epi initiative based at @EmoryRollins, co-directed by @B_Lopman & @nataliexdean, focusing on ways to reduce infectious disease burden through effective *use* of vaccines.

Almost all antibiotic exposures for enteric pathogens occur when they are NOT the target of treatment. Read more about our work on bystander exposure and potential implications for AMR in the latest issue of @PNASNews @SBrennhofer @JosephLewnard @UVA_ID pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

For a bunch who study social contact, we’ve had precious little of it in the last few years. Such a delight to connect with this brilliant group in-person. Exciting science in the works!

Out today in Scientific Reports: Mobile screening units can help close #tuberculosis case-detection gaps. Placing screening units where people for high risk for undiagnosed #tb preferentially spend time could make screening more resource effective. nature.com/articles/s4159…

Sweeping systematic review of > 65k people across 20+ cohorts evaluating BCG efficacy, confirming protection from BCG wanes in early childhood. New vaccines against adult pulmonary TB are essential to #EndTB. Brilliant and important work led by @LeoMarti_EpiTB!
