Day 8 of #ThyKingdomCome 🙏 - let us reflect on the sacrificial love of Christ. Let us take time to pray for our 5 to encounter God's love.

Today we had a visit from BBC TV to The Genesis Project Grove Hill! It was a wonderful opportunity to tell our story and for various people we serve to say how much we mean to them. We also fed approx 300 people once again by giving out more than 100 food parcels.

Every church should give a welcome just like St Paul’s

In response to CEEC, here is the welcome offered by St Paul's West Hackney, It's where Fr Justin struts his stuff (he's not in charge obviously). I think it's lovely. Their website is also wonderful stpaulswesthackney.org

Part of the taxes we all pay are for the security that if we fall as people in whatever category we have a safety net that our government will care for us

Do you know what has broken my heart today? The number of people saying its not the government's job to feed hungry children and blaming the parents. Its soul-crushing to hear such heartless rhetoric. What do you say to those people?

Harvest: not possible in church so at ⁦⁦@StAndrewsSW9⁩ we sang God’s blessing on our local community. First time the school has been all together (socially distanced) since March. 10,000 reasons indeed ⁦@SouthwarkCofE⁩ ⁦@SouthwarkDBE⁩ ⁦@churchofengland

I have a bit of free time so let me tell you a bit about who I am and my journey to faith. My journey to ordination will come soon. Grab a cup of tea - this might take a fair few tweets! (And yes, I am apparently the World’s Best Daddy - it says so on the mug so must be true! 😉)

I ask as many @YorkCityFC fans as possible to email @WhitbyTownFC today and tell them to keep their ticket money. I think we can all afford £6 but added together the amount will help the club in tough times. The decision was neither their choice or fault so let’s help if we can.

Having faith means keeping your heart turned to God, to His love, to His Fatherly tenderness, amid the storm. Jesus wanted to teach this to Peter and the disciples, and also to us today (Mt 14:22-33). #GospelOfTheDay

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict. Let us remember that women embody within themselves the protection of life, communion, and the desire to care for all things. The way we treat women’s bodies reveals our level of humanity.

Well done Azeem!

Teesside Covid Heroes No 5 Azeem of Longlands Travel. He made a £1,000 donation to Middlesbrough Foodbank in order to help feed some of those struggling most desperately in our town. Brilliant generosity when his own business is taking such a financial hit.

When we are able to meet as Christians again, will priests have the humility to sit down with their congregations and to ask them: “What have you learned about God, religion and worship from the time of lockdown?”& “In the light of this knowledge, how can we go forward in hope?”
