China has peaked, Russia is retreating, and Trump is done. There's hope, people.
What happened in China yesterday is massive. I haven’t seen anything as big in my lifetime. Basically Biden said to American engineers working in China in the semiconductor to either resign or be ready to lose their American citizenship. Everyone resigned. Industry collapsed 🤯
Needless to say the short-term productivity is the less important - abet very real - win. A great PM allows the team to work on stuff that makes sense on the mid- and long-term, creates stability, reduces firefighting and empowers engineers who now understand the strategy.
I have always consistently underestimated the difference a great product manager means to productivity of the whole engineering team and neighbouring teams. One of the consistently underrated areas on how to improve an engineering organisation… without product it’s difficult.
