Concluded my first week at Astrobotic as a Mechanical Engineering intern working with the Space Robotics division! It has been a phenomenal experience thus far and am excited to see if I can implement the ʻike of our kūpuna in my contribution towards future space missions.

Mahalo to the Lāhui Hawaiʻi Research Conference and NHSS for giving me the opportunity to present my research on positioning systems for planetary rovers and being able to talk about its connection to ʻike kūpuna.

A Māori politician in New Zealand who was thrown out of Parliament for not wearing a Western tie was allowed back, after uproar. Ties are no longer mandatory. Rawiri Waititi called ties a "colonial noose" and a product of racist systems designed to subjugate Indigenous people.

The First Americans of this country, including a large majority of Navajo voters, had a major impact in the outcome of the presidential election in several swing states – that needs to be recognized and acknowledged by all.

Hawaiʻi is sending a Native Hawaiian to Congress. Kai Kahele, who replaces Tulsi Gabbard, is only the second Native Hawaiian in Congress since Hawaiʻi became a state. The late Senator Daniel Akaka was the first.

Lots of people are rediscovering and re-sharing this post this morning, so I’m putting it again here. Listen to @esglaude Really take in his words. The work we have ahead of us is deep, and transcends elections. It always has been. And we are called to do it.

Incredibly powerful, must-watch moment. Thank you, @esglaude

Pence demanding that Harris answer *his* own personal questions when he won’t even answer the moderator’s is gross, and exemplary of the gender dynamics so many women have to deal with at work.

Our latest on the NFL this past Sunday. Putting Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick in their video re: racism/injustice. And the hypocritical nature of the league’s continued blackballing of two standout players.

If they are really going to reopen schools in Hawai’i next year. How about getting out of the classroom? Now is a great time for the DOE and all educational institutions to get on the tremendously successful ‘Āina-based learning activities happening all across Hawai’i

Before the Ala Wai Canal was built to drain Waikīkī's marshes, the waters from Makiki, Mānoa and Pālolo Valleys passed through Waikīkī into the sea. This 1865 painting by Enoch Wood Perry Jr. shows Mānoa as seen from Waikīkī. #WaikīkīWednesday
