I often get asked my students and residents where is the best place to practice EKGs. I can confirm med twitter is great for this as I have spent over an hour if my Friday night looking at fun EKGs on twitter. the algorithm was feeding me.

Simple, easy and practical way to differentiate between different types of shock. Put the Echo probe over the cardiac apex, Obtain Apical 5 chamber view Apply PWD in the LVOT (1cm above the aortic valve) Trace the LVOT VTI Then follow the algorithm . pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34825894/

last week, I planned my vacation requests for the next 2 years of fellowship so I can run all 6 majors and get my 6-star medal. I’m literally having a breakdown right now with this announcement LOL

BREAKING NEWS: @WMMajors just announced that the @sydmarathon will become the newest member of the World Marathon Majors starting in 2025. The Sydney Marathon will be the 7th World Major in addition to… @TokyoMarathon_E @bostonmarathon @londonmarathon @berlinmarathonE

I can’t believe I scheduled a red eye flight, yet took today as a vacation day just so I’d have time to run 18 miles before vacation. they say marathon training is “life changing” but what has my life become 🥲🥲🥲

How come nobody ever told me about Pittsburgh? It’s so nice here with the hills and the water and lots of sauerkraut for some reason. Big fan.

ringing in the big 3-2 with a NINE 👏🏼 MINUTE 👏🏼 PR (wtf) in my 6th half marathon! 🫶🏼😭 feeling very grateful to finally be in such a healthy relationship (consistently) with running again.

Survived my first week of EP. I don’t think I’ve come remotely close to answering a single question correctly all week. But if I’m being honest, I’ve never had more fun being wrong, learning, and hunting for P-waves!🫀🤩

I don’t care what team you cheer for or what your opinions of the Phillies are there is nothing that compares to the energy of Citizens Bank Park in October. this video gives me the chills every time. #RedOctober ⚾️

The Phillies don’t play until October 5th so enjoy Bryson Stott’s grand slam with nothing but electrifying Philly postseason baseball noise

really grateful to have had the opportunity to attend @pnatarajanmd ‘s talk today on somatic mutations and CVD! prevention is a very exciting space these days 🫀

genuine question for #runningtwitter for those who are marathon training 🏃‍♀️👟 are there any other runners who face food aversion after long runs? ya girl can eat, but I just cannot eat meals after long runs, I just pick at little things all day which is not great for refuel.

more beautiful views from the running trails in Pittsburgh! 13 miles today, 27 this week, and not pictured is the 26.3 miles I walked on consults this week. grateful for this de-load week ahead☠️

friendly reminder that some atypical antipsychotics can cause metabolic syndrome and hyperlipidemia (seroquel, zyprexa risk >> risperdal, abilify) and that many young patients wind up on these medications which if unmonitored, can increase their cardiovascular risk! 🫀
