Great final meeting of W2W in Landau this week! It was a balancing act between exciting recent results, and empowering legacy of W2W, both leading to a bright future of our community, continuing to look for the limits of weather predictability! wavestoweather.de/meetings/w2w-a…

It feels great to see this work published😎. gmd.copernicus.org/articles/16/35… We started this project in a non-traditional Hackathon format where our research group members gather intermittently over 2 years for data analysis and discussion.

Thanks so much for giving me a FANTASTIC day, all❤️🎓🥳☀️ Truly love all the details of my PhD hat and wagen. It couldn't be better 🥰 #PhDone

Today the intertropical convergence zone is particularly recognizable. Even our latest weather and climate models often struggle to stimulate this weather system.

📢First piece of work from Team #Aquachannel is out for open discussion. We present a novel diagnostic tool that we used to understand #ITCZ behavior in our runs.

Discussion open for comments: Understanding the dependence of mean precipitation on convective treatment in tropical aquachannel experiments doi.org/10.5194/wcd-20…

PAPER ALERT!! I and Ángel Adames sensei (@afadames) are excited to share our new paper: “Moist Thermodynamics of Convectively Coupled Waves over the Western Hemisphere”. Our hot take: Moisture modes exist and apparently occur in the whole tropical region. journals.ametsoc.org/view/journals/…

1/n Interesting to monitor the forecast for the seven #LSDPatKIT North-Atlantic European regimes in the advent of the major warming going on in the stratosphere – a thread for the weather experts.

My three weeks in CO in Jan 😊 I visited @NOAAClimate PSL & @NCAR_Science after #AMS2023. Was wonderful time discussing science with all great people + exploring Boulder 🏔️ Thanks Juliana Dias & @RosimarWx for hosting me & @WavesToWeather for supporting my trip!

Climate change and ENSO is a common topic request we get on the ENSO Blog. But there is an even more basic question that scientists are pondering: How will trends in sea surface temperatures change across the equatorial Pacific Ocean? 1/11 climate.gov/news-features/…
